Yep, they're crap! Gradually fixing the previous owner's 'improvements' and a decent coilover set-up is next on the list.

A previous owner decided not to get them refurbed, fitting Cup dampers instead. Doughnut.

Have you got the Sachs dampers?

The price of a refurb will still work out cheaper no doubt then a 'decent' set of coilovers.

As said either a set of eibachs then or some mark fish springs.

Some great trophys so far in this thread I really liked James.

I really really really really want to own a trophy but it would have to be the 197 that makes way for it as the sunflowers going nowhere, hmm?

I'm sure Steve won't mind me posting this.......

Yeah it is - massive bargin at that price. Bit upset really, had it for 3 years, spent about £5k on it, washed it reguarly and was in good condition. It's too good for a track car, a couple of hundred £ and it's really mint.

I've seen Steve's posts and it does need a couple of cosmetic/minor things - but that's it. Within the past few k it's had: another BG damper overhaul (2nd one), including new guides and pistons, new rear shocks, discs and pads all round, oil change, MoT, exhaust mounts. I have/had tonnes of reciepts with it as noted by Steve - going back to before I had the car.

Engine is really nice, gear box is smooth - nothing really wrong with it at all. I was really unsure on weather to sell it :( It was a great car for me.

Only on 62k ish (I bought it on 40k) and has 3 former keepers including me - first one had it 3 years (0-37k), the next fella 6 weeks then me. I sold the car with Yozza exhaust and my beloved private plate which matches the car. I don't know how it will be sold on though.
