I had to rip my snap on 1 and modify it to fit becuase the seat boulsters are massive compared to my saxo, i think you can get bigger ones though, mine was £14.
take it for a good run, and let it get upto temp as if its a a resistor thats been fooling the ecu, it will have to re-learn the settings for that sensor, may take a complete drive cycle for this to happen.
u go in for a free brake check and come out needing, 4 new tyres, disc and pads all round, a new exhaust and a few other things they find, they do it cos tey have to meet targets which is wrong really, also spend a few hours of your time, basic tools and read round the forum and do it ya self. O...
Id get some 1000 grit paper, bucket of water with soap in, and holding the handel in one hand, paper in the other gently rub them down keeping plenty of water on, then dry them off, use some normal plastic primer, dust them over lighty a few times, get some silver paint, dust that on then laquer...
If you post pics we can see, unfortunalty your too far away for me to do the job, by the time u got it here etc wont be worth it, if some one local can then get it repaired if no get a 2nd hand.
