    Unplanned Arctic Blue 182!

Been working annoying shifts recently so haven't had much chance to work on this. However with a day off today I finished off the column cowl and got that fitted up. Next up is the bottom half but Greigzy currently has all my Torx bits and he's in f**king India And popped a random shot on an...

    Unplanned Arctic Blue 182!

Thanks Steve  Column cowl is nearly there. Final coats going on today then flat, polish and lacquer tomorrow when it's fully cured. Sadly run out of Carbon to do anything else so will have to wait until I can buy some more.

Other trims done and installed. And removed the top of the steering column cowl which is currently awaiting its first cure to finish. First bit with more than a single continuous surface so a bit more of a challenge.

    Unplanned Arctic Blue 182!

Since I was getting some carbon skinning work done on the Mini, I thought I would take some Clio bits off for practice purposes and if they came out ok, I could put them on the car. Starting simple with fairly flat parts and will work up to more curved/compund curved surfaces as my skills...

Thanks all! The stance will change soon as its too low to be fun on back roads. Nothing too drastic though.

    Unplanned Arctic Blue 182!

This thing is still great fun and still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Happy days. Took it on a road trip to Aviemore via Ballater/The Lecht and it didn't miss a beat. Driving on The Lecht in rainy, snowy, slippery conditions was not fun with the terrible Toyo Proxes tyres...

    Unplanned Arctic Blue 182!

Thanks! It looks awesome but is so low it rubs far too easily when leaning on it in the corners. Going to be raising it a touch to see if it sorts it out as it doesn't inspire confidence. Haha well losing my job and then this costing me some money to repair certainly was painful but maybe time...

    Unplanned Arctic Blue 182!

Few photos from Thursday night. Nothing fancy but Ive not picked up my camera and edited photos in over a year so skills are highly rusty. Loving my mates 200 Cup but he really needs to get his arse in gear and buy Recaros for it but I think he's wanting to do a rear seat delete first then...

Just being a pic whore My 182 next to my best mates RS 200 Cup. Both could actually do with a clean but the pic says otherwise.

    Unplanned Arctic Blue 182!

Yeh it is. Cleaning up nicely, just leaving to dry for a few days so it doesn't go mouldy with the moisture. Yeh I have looked into them but didn't want to buy one to find I didn't really like it. Having the wheel from my classic Mini show car thats currently in storage meant i could test my...

    CNC thread

True but why not learn the basics on a CNC machine? I look at it light saying 'na you gotta learn to use a typewriter first, even though we haven't used them in years and it lacks the useful functionality before letting you loose on an electronic keyboard'

Makes a mockery of the manual lathes and mills we are being taught to use at my college evening classes haha! I called my lecturers out on it saying nobody uses manual stuff anymore but they just claimed I need to know the basics....yeh but I need to know the basics of CNC machine programming...

LOVE a good bit of CNC work. Check out NYC CNC and Titans of CNC on YouTube. Both great channels, albeit very different in their approaches and budgets.
