It's a renault so probably a pig. I did a quick search and I think you can wiggle it out past the driveshaft with inlet manifold off and exhaust undone and moved back. Ill find out this weekend!
If anyone's interested. I twatted the starter motor with a hammer and now it starts. Will be on the to do list. Wish it played up last weekend so I could of replaced it when I put the 182 manifold on.
Oh well
This morning I had a non starting problem. Unlock vehicle, ignition on and when turning to crank it goes dead.
No tools with me so all I could do was check passengers fuse box - all ok and engine bay relays/fuses. These where quite corroded so I managed to scrape them up a bit with a knife and...
Iv just done mine and it was fairly simple. There's a good guide here on the forum as well. Henk is also very prompt on communication. Once you've done it you can sell it on or use it as a diagnostic tool for the future.
Ok cool iv got access to a decent build shop as well but I reckon might be able to get away with just doing big ends. Depends when sump is off. Is it your main vehicle? Have you got a driveway? Offers there if you want a hand. Nice to know there's a few people local with clios
What would you class as random bolt ons? I'm just going to do the bits Iv said and then have some fun at a couple track days before going for a bit overhaul during winter and focussing on either bodies or turbo. Iv owned turbos before though so I think I might go throttle bodies route this time.
Why is a standard valve more likely to fail rather then spring or follower?
Where did you purchase your valves? I saw some KTEC supplied and I thought they were on the pricey side.
Yeah 100% it would have cams when I sort the head out and either go turbo or throttle bodies.
Just wanted a higher RPM with the RS Tuner map, matched inlet, bmc filter and exhaust.
Its running 162.5bhp now so wanted to eek a little more out before a big rebuild.
