It's a renault so probably a pig. I did a quick search and I think you can wiggle it out past the driveshaft with inlet manifold off and exhaust undone and moved back. Ill find out this weekend!
If anyone's interested. I twatted the starter motor with a hammer and now it starts. Will be on the to do list. Wish it played up last weekend so I could of replaced it when I put the 182 manifold on.
Oh well
This morning I had a non starting problem. Unlock vehicle, ignition on and when turning to crank it goes dead.
No tools with me so all I could do was check passengers fuse box - all ok and engine bay relays/fuses. These where quite corroded so I managed to scrape them up a bit with a knife and...
Iv just done mine and it was fairly simple. There's a good guide here on the forum as well. Henk is also very prompt on communication. Once you've done it you can sell it on or use it as a diagnostic tool for the future.
Ok cool iv got access to a decent build shop as well but I reckon might be able to get away with just doing big ends. Depends when sump is off. Is it your main vehicle? Have you got a driveway? Offers there if you want a hand. Nice to know there's a few people local with clios
What would you class as random bolt ons? I'm just going to do the bits Iv said and then have some fun at a couple track days before going for a bit overhaul during winter and focussing on either bodies or turbo. Iv owned turbos before though so I think I might go throttle bodies route this time.
Why is a standard valve more likely to fail rather then spring or follower?
Where did you purchase your valves? I saw some KTEC supplied and I thought they were on the pricey side.
Yeah 100% it would have cams when I sort the head out and either go turbo or throttle bodies.
Just wanted a higher RPM with the RS Tuner map, matched inlet, bmc filter and exhaust.
Its running 162.5bhp now so wanted to eek a little more out before a big rebuild.
Is that the ARP stud kit for the head? Is it the followers that are mostly likely to fail?
I wanted 7800rpm and then push a little higher with head mods.
Ill have to request higher RPM then when I get my licence and map tomorrow.
I though they were both 12v sensors and the front is also heated so it brings temps up quicker on cold start.
Front should fluctuate between 4-800mv and the rear downstream used to measure gases after Cat. Hence why after de cat most people encounter EML lights.
I may be wrong.
You'll be at Bedford for renaultsport evening? Be interested in having a look at that engine bay if you'd be so kind? :)
Im just weighing up exhaust options at the moment. I will have two systems by the end of the week hopefully and noise limits will play a large factor.
Anyways sorry off topic.
I'm not sure regarding the map but I guess it's both over fuelling and timing. Has anyone got aftermarket cams and then used vernier pulleys and if so what amount of overlap?
Could anyone tell me the RPM limit on a RON98 map from Fastchip.
I have my RS tuner coming and will be buying licence and emailing Henk but wanted to increase RPM for my new ARP bolts.
Just wondered if it was in the generic map already or if you have to request this when you order.
Thank you
Same lights as mine. DTC says steering angle sensor. After clearing codes the abs stayed off for a day and then came back on. Been on for months just haven't got round to fixing it.
