Bloody good price mine was £8400 with 29000 on it and had to haggle like buggery to get it to that.
Word of warning the cambelt snapped on mine after 3000 miles replaced under warrenty but heard there was a batch of mk1,s with suspect cambelts.
Got my car back today after cambelt snapped and Renault replaced the engine with a new one. Bloke at the workshop advised me to run the engine in for 2500 miles. As i did not buy the car new can someone who did let me know how far they ran the engine in before driving properly again...
Renault have decided they will pay for it and say there is only slight valve damage. Not entirely sure this is true as its apparently going to take them 3 weeks to fix the bloody thing.

Can anyone give me some idea of the damage done when the cambelt goes on a 172? Mine has gone after 34000 and Renault are being a little cagey about exactly what damage has been done and believe it or not if its covered under the warranty.
Anyone got any advice?
