    clio dci pump timing

Cheers. I was also glad I learnt about locking the flywheel and the non keyed crank pulley before I tried the starter undoing trick.

    clio dci pump timing

Hi i have seen a few threads around the internet that say the hp pump on a dci doesnt need to have its timing set when doing a cambelt change. I marked mine anyway but is this info correct. The clio dci seems to use the hp pump for the cam sensor so surely on the clio it has to be in the...

dash rattle but maybe firewall rattle and dog mount

Fixed it. The arb bushes have tightened the steering but the rattle was caused by play in the brake caliper.

    calipers move!

Hi. i posted in faults about a rattle im getting that seems to come from the firewall area. After searching the web i came across a similar complaint from somebody who had the same. Their problem was worn pad springs allowing the pads to move. today I took my drivers wheel off and the pads...

dash rattle but maybe firewall rattle and dog mount

Well I have changed the dog mount to the twisted style but have not tested yet. The old one was split at the outer rubber edge. When I finished that I had a look at the anti roll bar bushes/drop links and I think I have found the problem. the passenger side has pulled through the hole and the...

dash rattle but maybe firewall rattle and dog mount

I have noticed today that the rattle clears if I lift off and then starts again as soon as I press the accelator. Im beginning to become more inclined that its mount related as my gearstick moves back and forth but not by much.

dash rattle but maybe firewall rattle and dog mount

Hi all my car is an 02 1.5 dci 65 with 64000 miles. I have a really strong vibration/rattle when in high gear at lower speeds but engine not struggling. It sounds like its coming from under the centre of the dash to the steering wheel area. I have had the dashtop off and couldnt find...

play in wheel 3 and 9

its the inner tie rod. pulled back the gaitor and you can see the play in the ball. Had a cracking quote from a garage to supply and fit including tracking so im not going to diy it this time. It works out cheaper than me sourcing the parts getting a crows foot and cutting it down and then...

    Broken ABS ring

Mine cost me about £15. Self fitted. Its a total pain as it all needs stripping cleaning and the ring heated with a blowtorch to expand it to fit. Next time ill just buy and fit a new driveshaft with one already on. (This was on a different car). The job took hours as well. My symptom was the...

play in wheel 3 and 9

That was my initial thought but second garage said they were good and movement seemed more from the rack. Ill have a good look tomm and post the results.

play in wheel 3 and 9

Well when I checked it was just me and it was hard to move and look at the same time. My lad is available tommorow so ill jack up the car and let him shift it while having a good look. Sometimes you cant see the wood for the trees untill somebody posts it. So yes your spot on ill see if it moves...

play in wheel 3 and 9

That was a thought I had but believed that would be more evident at 12 and 6. I am willing to be proved wrong. No noise from the bearing though. The hub spins nicely.
