    Cambelt Overdue, Driving Style?

Hopefully it should be ok. Dont ram it through the gears, just be gentle if you are concerned. TBH @58k it will still look like new anyway, so dont worry too much. I have changed them at that mileage and wished I hadnt bothered when I have seen the condition of the belt Grinding noise is...

    Car wont start

If there is nothing at all, no starter turning or anything, undo the negative battery lead where it connects to the body and clean up the contact. Mine did this and an auto electrician found it in 20 seconds. So if thats what it is.. that'll be £45 please! :D Daz

    172 high milers

I used to worry about putting miles on my cars, and I have had some nice ones in my time. But as I got older I dont care anymore. Accept that when you sell it, it will be worthless. And just use the thing. 100k was the milestone, but I passed that with ease and nothing fell off, its still...

    172 high milers

I bought my cup from a girl who really could clock miles, so she started this.. She did 40k in one year, and looking through the paperwork actually managed to do 12,000 miles in just over 2 months between the service and mot! Work it out, thats 200 a day! I have added a further 30k of...

    Connecting bumper to wings

Yes its a small square clip open ended on one side. You push it on clipping the wing and bumper edge together. Other than Reno, you could try a motor factors and while this may not give you the exact part, you may find something similar. Alternatively, try a breakers, I am sure they wont...

    172 high milers

I have a 52 plate 172 cup with 104,500 miles It's running sweet as a nut now after a recent dodgy patch. Mostly motorway driving, but is this the highest mileage cup out there? Daz

    172 Record Breaker

172 cup 104k on the clock (is that a record?)so its all nicely loosened up. The most I have got is 424 miles to a tank. I regularly see 390 before fill up, mostly motorway 70-80, and a few healthy squirts down country lane to get home every night. It's just great. I dont know how it does it...

Everyone seems to be going for the parada's - which are nice but i feel like trying something different? With good reason, my Paradas in 205 45 16s just wont come unstuck Awesome tyre with excellent wear resistance too. Best tyre I have used and I have been through plenty Fronts lasted a...

    Rear wheel bearings - Question

Just use a large socket and a hammer and tap it out from behind. They come out fairly easily. Just make sure you remove the circlip first or it will never come out. Then if you are putting a new one in, clean the inside and lightly coat with engine oil, slot the new bearing in place and use...

    compbrake kit fitted pics

How can you tell? Its the vanes on the inside that determine the turning direction, not the grooves on the surface of the disc as shown on the pics. Some manufacturers make discs with grooves that go either way depending upon what kit you bought. The vanes between the disc should take air...
