why though? i have faith in my car and the garage that done the job so why would i need to prove that some local garage can actually do a cambelt change without messing the timing up?
FACT- the locking tools are available from laser, sealey and other manfacturers.
if 95% of garages f**k up the job on a 172/182 then mate where are all these thousands of fucked engines, customers complaints to watch dog?
How is autodata wrong?
and how can you say that 98% that my cambelt kit...
mate i have never said these tools are not required. i am wanting to know why these tools are reffered to as special cos there not!
so why do you insist that garages would use half of these?
maybe some around bedford do but i know that the garage that done mine used a renault timing tool kit...
i am not saying that, i am saying that in some cars they will fit others,
you keep refering to this tool as special danny, whats special about a cam sprocket tool?
i know laser do a cheap one but sealey do them and so do snap on which are spot on items and for not a lot of dough.

no need to tar with the same brush if around bedford garages are unable to correctly carry out a cambelt change.
mate you are really stupid, i have clearly seen the pics and can verify those are not no 'special tools' and are exactly the same f**king tools used on my car, if you wish to believe they are special then do so, these are standard tools used for locking pulleys and cams and crank. next time read...
there is no such thing as a special locking tool mate! you and every other person on here are been fooled into this bullshit thing. all that tool is a cam sprocket locking tool. nearly all garages use it like it advises in guess what....Autodata!
seems to me that specialists refer to these locking tools as 'special' and most garages including renault dealerships just use the the traditional cam locking tools, cam pulley locking tool and crank pin.
I don't see how autodata 2011 is incorrect to the procedure as the instructions are...
