There are two pumps...
Its the brake pedal sensor - i had the same issue , i tested it over and over and it SEEMED ok when i checked that the rear lights came on ... but trust me , play around with the sensor ... e.g pull it out a few clicks and try , then in a click and try again check to see if the lights on the...
on closer inspection its the reservoir to rack pipe (i think thats low pressure) that i need

So my second problem of the week with the classically french 182 - my power steering hose ( high pressure going to left axel ? ) has been worn away by the heat shield.... there is now a small pin sized hole that fluid is slowly dripping from ( loosing about 1ml every mile)

My car seems to do this when jacked up - its in neutral etc and the wheels spin on both sides
Is this a sign of a knackered clutch ? - it seems ok when accelerating hard etc

Yeah i thought about the rings , but i checked and cleaned them whilst changing the brakes last year :S

ok so im a little stumped
i have the intermittent SERV + ABS + ESP lights problem - i have researched this and have tried adjusting the brake light sensor ... this hasn't made any difference and i'm wondering if its better to just replace the pedal sensor rather than trying to adjust it again...
Has anyone got any experiance with this style of short shifter ?

Its on 64k Without any belt changes and its an '04' 182 FF - its going in next month for everything you mentioned so maybe that will cure it :)
Its going into eurocars for the above work on the isle of man next month when i have the pennies
But...
So whenever the car revs , this rattle/grinding noise can be faintly heard from the left hand area of the engine bay (as your looking at it)
It does not do it at idle , and turning the steering wheel slightly seems to make it worse.

Ok so my 182 has a strange intermittent issue :
When braking to a stop at slow speeds the ABS , Traction control and SERV lights appear on the dash
Turning ignition off and on makes them disappear
This will only happen maybe once or twice a week when driving , but its enough to annoy me...
