so hopefully going down to remove the engine loom today, will see how that goes,
i also need to re-think the boot floor, the ally fabrication chap said for the ££££ it will cost it will probably not be worth the weight saving

anyones thoughts?

just leave it imo only reason i would ever think about a 182 floor is if i wanted a straight pipe.

Why don't you source a front end damaged 182 in a scrap yard and grind the rear floor out?
At least it won't cost you a arm and a leg to customise a sheet of metal to fit.

I like that grey but it seems an awful lot of work for barely much colour change. I think it needs something bright to contrast the wheels. Lambo green. Ferrari red. Porsche orange. Something like that.

the reason the ally would of been a pain is to get the strength would mean 4mm ally so that would mean hardly any saving,
the boot floor from a 182 is only £150 so would just order that...

the car is basically a shell, with engine, no loom etc anywhere.... prep for paint, then get it back and re-assemble then take to matt for new loom and mapping.
it is a state, but you have to go backwards to go forwards.... my painter friend wants to take inspiration from clio cups etc... and paint it race style, i am just worried it will look to aggro for what it is

When we've got some time off over xmas/new year you'll have to pop down to the unit where we keep the track cars!

Depends on what colour you go for mate, silver in the bay doesn't really look that bad.If you've got a crane go for it. You can do the cross member and wings, so the struts the only part you really see when it's in. Im spraying mine black

adam - it won't be getting tucked etc...lol, but there won't be too many wires left.
keiran - so what time are you down next weekend? lol.... i am extremely tempted now also, it will be the right way to do things i think, may be good to get the block out and have a ganders too, i can borrow an engine crane, will just need a hand to remove it....

I don't really regret not painting mine tbh as the struts can be done afterwards, it's a forgiving layout.

he is a very good mate, he will love the extra £££ for the work, but i doubt he will help remove it... he'd rather sit back and laugh...lol
the way i think about it now is.... its the only real time it makes sense.... why not do it properly?

my notes where on the system from a little while back, i got quoted (as said a little while back) for £164, however it sounds like they have gone up....

its going to be the putting it in that will cost...

With the yellow details and satin black bits it could work quite nicely,
