Carbon roof

As everyone has been so kind and not slated my car or even shown any pics of it from Trax I thought that I should show this in a mini thread of its own.

Now to those who say it's crap, tough, it's my car and I did it because I thought it looked good. I am not putting these pictures hoping that someone will help me see the error of my ways amd make me change my mind. It's staying, although it can be removed if I ever come to sell the car and any potential buyer does not like it.

So what's the big secret.

As the title says it's my new carbon roof. Interesting to see so many people walk by look at it and say is that real, Then the fingers go out. Looks real and feels real.

I guess this pic gives it away.

Looks pretty decent, but I agree about the spoiler. Either fully done or not at all. Would like to see it from the front too.

  DCi 100
Would love a bonnet in that kinda of dry carbon, looks similiar to a reventon kinda thing!

Very smart how you've done it on the spoiler IMO.

I had a nose at this today, got to say I was impressed. Looked equally as good as the genuine M3 carbon roof I was looking at earlier in the day.

Peejay can you PM me the details of where you got this done and how much please. Im only down the road from you and have been looking at getting this done for some time now. Think it will look good with GW :D

Thanks for the kind comments. It was not a home job but was done by Totally Dynamic who have a number of locations throughout the Country. I went to the one in Totton and received an excellent and professional job. If anyone would like the information I can pm them the details.

Couple more pics from today.

I believe that they can make it shiny by overlaying with a clear vinyl.

Simon, the franchise owner tried to wrap the whole of the spoiler but was unable to do it without making lots of cuts which would be visible. Hence the cut off where it was a natural line which was agreed before application. The roof is guaranteed for 3 years.

May possibly have a few other bits that I will see if he can do.

I would post a link but it would probably be removed for advertising.

I quite like that, although I wouldn't have it done myself. Have to admit I did stumble by your car in a hungover daze and just thought you'd had the roof sprayed matt black...

I quite like it tbh, although I think leaving the spoiler alone would have made it look more authentic.

The furry dice on the other hand...

I like that mate, don't see what all the fuss is about really unless its just about the spoiler. I've been thinking of doing this to mine too. Might have to pm you for details soon if that's ok.

The all in price was under £200 which was well under what Raccoon quoted me who were at Trax offering the roof service for £225 yesterday. When I went to them for a quote they said £300 + VAT. They only needed the car for a couple of hours as well.

Will answer pms soon.

Looks good!
I'd consider something similar with mine - especially as there's a Totally Dynamic place right near me in Southport!
I'm not sure it'd look as good on a car that wasn't black/silver though.
