I'm playing this on the 360 and despite me thinking it would feel underwhelming compared to next gen, I am really enjoying it. The only thing I would say is that despite having the DLC maps the rotation of maps seems a bit poor - I seen to be playing the same 4 or 5 every time unless I go and search for specific maps.
However I've been really enjoying the game. Only played as Assault really so far to get all the unlocks - and now have the Ace after completing the Assault Expert medal. As I was using only the AK12 before, it feels much better with less recoil and more accuracy. What does everyone else think is the best Assault gun and setup?
I need to improve my k/d ratio - I've been playing conquest mainly and going for the objectives but as a result I'm down to about 0.75
I know it doesn't really matter but like to be at least at 1 as a matter of pride.
Also as for people having difficulty getting into games...I've got the Premium content (Decided to treat myself as it was Xmas!) and I seem to go in very quickly, having less problems than my friends who don't. Not saying you should pay £30+ for this pleasure but unfortunately it does seem to work!

Played the China Rising maps last night, didn't enjoy them one bit. I got battered, I finished 3 -16 on one map :S

I used to download the videos from Facebook onto my laptop using safari and a plug in recommended by gman. But, I now use an app for my samsung tablet that downloads my FB videos in HD and I upload them from my tablet.

I've been on for a few hours tonight and nee one was in my party. Played really well tonight both on K/D and Score as squad leader giving out commands. I was using the ACE gun too. Best gun on the game IMO. With Kobra red dot, a Muzzle Brake and Ergo Grip with a Laser too I use the Green one. Over a distance just use short little bursts instead of spraying do that and you'll be unstoppable. The power damage will compensate for that

I think it's called My Video Downloader. I don't gave my tablet to hand at the moment! It's free and saves in HD. Saves having to turn on my laptop too haha.

Your stats are good. Need 16 more medkit ribbons and I've unlocked the ACE 23. Can't wait. Picked it up when I knifed a soldier, killed 3 in a row with it.
Had a few games after I reset the router tonight, no issues at all. Battlefield at its best
Good stats! I just got the RDS and it is MUCH better. The standard iron sights are awful as the the bottom part of the reticule obscures your shot and particularly bad in darker levels. Can't wait to upgrade it a bit more, already seems miles better than the AK12.

No reflection on your skill m8 - but that clip just highlights the mistake EA/DICE made in having unlimited ammo on vehicles. For over three minutes, you're raping and pillaging pretty much all before you. You could argue that the lack of skill on the opposition hasn't been able to bring you down - but it should be enforced where using up your ammo reserves, requires a retreat to your own lines to resupply. They did this in the earlier BF games and then banished it as the series progressed.
You're a very flyer, but it's a joke when you have exceptional pilots on there with an engineer(s) to consta-repair. I really do struggle to understand where DICE think that that's a good gameplay mechanic?

The vehicles seem a bit unbalanced in BF4. I've only played Bad Company 2, BF3 and now BF4 but I found Bad Company 2 best in terms of damage they could inflict and sustain and their rates of fire. Some of the guns on the choppers seem underpowered (the minigun feels like a pea shooter).
Darren, or anyone else, does anyone else use commander mode? I know before the release you were excited about this feature but I haven't used it at all and it seems a bit under utilised on consoles at least.

I use Commander Mode quit a lot . Service star 27 now. Find it quit boring after a fair few rounds. Shame you got to leave server if you got mates in the same one.

I picked this up pre owned earlier on the PS4 for £30 (and another tenner off from my game card)
Campaign seems OK. Graphics are very nice. Did crash in me though partway through a mission.
Had a few rounds on MP. Not overly keen on it from first impressions.
I noticed there were gun boxes on some levels yet when I went over to pick the gun up (and follow "press triangle to pick up" ...) it left me with my standard gun. No one else was around me, I checked my second weapon but I had nothing. Anyone know if you need to have unlocked that specific gun to be able to use it? Or be at a certain level?

What's up with BF, just got on and tried to join server and it's saying You have lost connection to the session. So I went back and back in again then it joined a server and it was laggy as anything so I left. Tried to to another server and the same message has popped back up twice now. Can't join a server. First time it's happened to me

it does pick up, you need to be precise on how you press the triangle button. I haven't got the jist yet. Try a few times. You can pick it up on any class

Right. I'll try again then. It disappeared once I'd tried so I take it it's a one try only thing.
Flol at having to be precise to pick up a weapon though. Press triangle. Done.

Yeah if you press it quickly or hold it for too long it drop suitor something like that. I'm having trouble myself. I don't bother with them myself. If I try to pick it up and having bother more chance of being killed or knifed faffing about.

Back in the BF2142 day, it felt great playing it, loads of squad helping. You were giving out commands pretty much they were doing what you told them too. On this near enough f**k all. Even when your screaming for ammo medic kit, even a ride nee one helps. Far too many players don't give a toss.
Was as using the tank tonight quit a bit tonight. Got 2 friend requests and one yesterday cos I owned in the tank as I knew how to use it properly. And also giving out orders and helping the squad with revives and so on.

That does piss me off. People don't play for the objectives then they should just play tdm. I was trying to get ammo when two people just went past without dropping boxes. Same for medics just walking past you.
Hopefully I'll unlock some guns soon. It's hard going when you have potato shooters.

I agree that it is extremely overpowered when a chopper pilot has an engineer (or two) in with him. If these guys had used a couple of stingers on me I would have been rendered useless pretty quick on such an open map.
If Dice/EA had made you go back to your own base for ammo it would have killed any interest I had in vehicles IMO although I feel there should be some other way to resupply that isn't just a time delay.

Sorry - I should have said that on the older BF games, it wasn't just your base that you could only resupply from from, but there were several caches of ammo spread across the map. Although a weapons cache may only be 400-500 metres away, it forces you to disengage and resupply.
The worst example of this 'oversight' I saw was during Port Valdez on BF:BC2. There's a part near the valley floor, just ahead of the small collection of buildings to the right (and under the pipeline) where a tank can be positioned where it's virtually indestructible. The scenery surrounding the tank hides it from the vast majority of incoming fire - while the small exposed parts that can receive damage are quickly repaired by the gaggle of engineers behind it. It basically becomes a turret with unlimited ammo as it neither has to retreat to repair or resupply after firing 30 main cannon rounds, for example.
Ultimately, we destroyed it - which gave the rather clever owner of that tank a ludicrous K/D ratio. Skill clearly doesn't come into it - he simply knew from observation of a perfect place to position the tank. DICE could micro-analyse every stretch of every map to stop such exploitations - or they could simply make vehicles re-arm and nullify the problem altogether.
DICE - you already used the one and only solution, years ago....

Had this game the other night. Im usually shockingly s**t on Paracel Storm but was pretty chuffed with this result. Still a bit of a lone ranger (get that from always playing COD) but i always go for the objective and will help out when im a medic or resupply.

Not dissing his skills as a pilot, but his squad is helping a lot. Engineer repairing his chopper when it takes hits and 2/3 spotters on the roof too.
