Cheers mate, where you getting yours done? I love the Anodic black finish on the pipe work etc, its almost like a factory finish. I'm quite pleased the guy at BettaBlast talked me into it as I was going to get gloss black (which I would of liked too I'm sure) but I'm really pleased with this

Just a quick update, my car is currently with Andyrg getting the engine forged along with a few bits and bobs sorted.

also my car is now part of the official clioturbo.co.uk web site ;)

I went for his kit two medium boost build but with the garret gt2560 turbo upgrade rather than the t28.

Also had the dephaser changed but he said i need either the pas pump changing or the alternator as its whining.

What about you mate?

Gone for the big one?

just a quick update, I've chosen to upgrade from the T28 to a GT2560rs to help make the most of the engines potential. So the car is now running the following spec,

-GT2560rs
-8.5.1Wossner pistons,
-Pec rods,
-1.3mm head gasket,
-500cc injectors,
-clioturbo.co.uk custom fuel rail set up,
-balanced bottom end.

should be back this weekend then its just running in and mapping to do.

its false economy not to change dephaser and belts etc while the engine is out. plus its peace of mind knowing its done.

yeah stage 3 as it were, high boost set up.
Gone for the big one?

Looks good mate, i will probably forge later on but i decided not to at this point.

You should see 300+ with that set up then :)

I will be happy with anything over 270, im only having the meg 225 pistons fitting so chris wont map it unsafely as these run around 280bhp safely iirc.

Same turbo as me then? How come you didnt go for the gt2860 rs disco potato?

this should spool up quicker so should make it more drivable I believe.

yeah I'm hoping to hit the 300 mark.,

the ly that Andy built for DTM was running 279 on meg pistons iirc and that was built proof so you'll be fine, plus like you say Andy and the mappers wont map it unsafely not worth the risk

Excellent mate, really nice car, im loving the gt2560, how you getting on with it?

I notice your clioturbo folder on the floor in your car, Andy mentioned he is doing one for me too for when i go for my health check/oil change :smile:

Excellent Build, I Cant recommend Andy enough, he really helped me with my conversion, and the engine is still strong as a nut! Fair play.

Hopefully one day I'll boost mine. I'm very tempted to do it now, but just bought a new house which will drain my funds!

Have the cash for a low boost conversion, but I'm afraid it'll end in high boost divorce [emoji6]

The turbo conversion looks pretty saweet too! Respect to Andy for his work. I think you always get a better std of workmanship when done by a real enthusiast.

another update, about 2 weeks ago went to EFI-Parts to have my car mapped. It took over 6 hours to get there due to the A1 being shut because of an explosion.... the weather was atrocious and id been on country roads trying to get round the blockage on the A1 so my car arrived pretty dirty.

anyway, it went on the rollers

and was in good company with EFI's own 749bhp Renault 5

I was over the moon with the results as its again mapped on 95Ron

291bhp and 254ft-lb at 0.9bar..... both Chris at EFI and @Andyrg@ ClioTurbo said it would have cleared 300bhp on 99Ron fuel
The car drives lovely now on low boost and is terrifying on high boost.

I did however have an unfortunate incident in Newcastle

nothing major but I had a flat battery, tried to bump start it and broke a bolt on the dog bone mount, so I had it recovered back to clioturbo.co.uk where once again I received top notch service from my man Andy. who squeezed me in and got my car mobile again.
