Just looking for a bit of advice. Been using Werkstat's Acrylic kit on my Inferno as I had some left over from ages but this is quickly running out. Looking for a durable wax/sealant for winter, what do you guys recommend?

I've got some Vics Concours but not sure on durability of it, I am better off with one of the Collinite waxs?

Vics is a summer wax chap, would you prefer a spray sealant like the Werkstat? C2V3, CarPro reload?

Usually prefer sealants just for the ease of using them, however wouldn't mind a wax if it meant it'd last over winter until the better weather comes.

Collinites 845 liquid wax/sealant
Sonax polymer net shield or protect and shine
Carpro reload or gtechniq C2

Was actually looking at the 845 but some of the sealants look pretty good for the money.

Ideally it'll be durability>looks at the moment.

I'd use some C2V3 personally. At least it's nice to use. 476 is horrible.

845 is alright but C2V3 can be so easy. Reload is better but can require dilution on Darker colours.

Strangely, the only time I had trouble was when I DID dilute iirc.

I used it on Black lots with zero issues but not everyone gets it perfect.

So - I have never cleaned my own cars because mostly I haven't had that much affection for what I have. HOwever new car + Christmas = spending spree on the GFs credit card.

So, she's getting me a Karcher K2 with wheel brush attachment and 'shampoo sprayer'. She also wants to get me a 'starter kit' of some description to get me going budget only £50/60.

So - chaps question 1. Is there a difference between a 'snowfoam' nozzle and the Karcher shampoo spray or can they be used?
2. What products should I be looking at for a starter kit? Do I need washmit and 2 buckets etc if using the snowfoam nozzlee? Wax? Glass cleaner? Plastic trim stuff?
3. A good website to buy from? I've looked on Autofinesse but it seems very pricey although appreciate price probably indicated quality. TBH I wouldn't know good beading if I saw it so I imagine the more expensive stuff is wasted on me. Simplicity is key with this in ther ordering process.

Any help very much appreciated.

The snow bottle/attachements that come with the pressure washers tend to be a bit crap so you'd be better with a 'proper' snowfoam lance.

I thought as much. Just needs to fit a Karcher tbh. Heard of an AutoBrite one but seems pricey.

Will look it up - cheers mate

I got an AutoBrite HD lance years ago and it's still going strong today, definitely worth the money. Would definitely reccomend.

Iirc, the shampoo sprayer just sprays shampoo, you can't alter consistency like with a snow foam lance.

Snow foam,
Citrus pre wash,*
Wheel cleaner,
Shampoo,
Wash mitt and any two buckets
Tar remover,
Iron fallout remover,
Clay bar*,
Microfibre drying towel(s)
All in one polish (glaze, cleanser, Polish) like tripple or super resin polish*
Wax/sealant
Isopropyl alcohol,*
Trim dressing

* aren't really necessary

Haven't artdeshine been trialling something similar sounding, not actually looking at carpro essence, for a while with blue lotion? Still yet to be released as well. Also there's the wolfs chemicals products with their 2 glazes

And I'm pretty sure TAC systems sell one but can't find it now

Wolf's did have a glaze but it was a glaze and they had shine and seal. No one really had an AIO on this scale.

Just had a thought,

Will collinite 845 sit on top of chemical guys jet seal?

Or does jet seal not let anything sit on top?

Just thought I'd would be a pretty decent winter protection!

Today after rinsing the car, I noticed the entire passenger side is covered in paint spots :(

I've not washed the car for ~6 weeks, and about 4 weeks ago our office building was painted, grey.

Advice? They pick off with a fingernail...

Yeah I'd want paid for that s**t! Happens so often. They would probably polish off in fairess and it will be waterbased paint.

I imagine hard clay would be ideal but you're going to be polishing either way.

shop n shine had a better deal than that on a unbranded one from memory.

Thanks for the replies regarding the paint.

Had a word with the building owner, he'll cover any costs incurred to sort it. He then recommended a 'detailer' that turns out to be the local £5 hand wash. I'll give that a miss.

Anyway, took a patch on the boot tonight: cleaned then clayed it. It left 'marring', so then used Megs compound and finally Zaino to polish/seal.

Looks great. It's going to take me ages though, will probably do a panel a week (I don't have the time). Also, every single panel, window and alloy has it on :(

Any other advice on the above?

(These are before I attempted any removal):
