Crashed the V6 last night

well I hope £4000 for a bumper is wrong, but they say a little side pod cost £800, so £4k for bumper could be about right I guess??...though hope not?

Simon.

Backend spun out and sent me in to the kurb. Drop the car off at the repair centre this morning (thank god i upgraded the AA cover £50 well worth it) They recon

New left Tyre

New Front Wheel

New Front Bumber

Possible subframe damage.

Damage to the lfet suspension as its been pushed back.

Anyone know how much this is going to set me back? I dont think im going to go through the insurance company as i cant afford to lose the no claims.

Couple of Qs

should i tell the insurance company ive had an accident just inacase i do need to claim???

How will this effect next years Insurance quote, that i need to renew in march????

well i was heading straight for a wall but saved it lol looking back i should of just gone straight in to the wall and hoped for a write off, took out gap insurance so id of been able to go and buy a brand new v6.

sounds similar to what i did, i kaned all my steering too. reno quoted me £2,300

went thru insurance, and their approved garage has made a right mess of my car. the wheel was squashed into the arch, its been pushed back like... but no where near where it should be.

id say defo get reno to sort it, and get a loan frm th bank. wish i did.

gd luck mate

baring in mind i only have a 1.2 dynamique

I called 2 renault dealers and they wouldnt touch the car, i have left it at an approved renault repair centre, if im not 100% happy they will have to keep sorting it until i am happy.

bad news mate, i banged my cup into the curb last year, just a month before my insurnace was due. insuring a cup with one years no claims is ouch ouch ouch painfull

exactly what i did , or near enuf, i had to change rear axle and poss b

new fnt subframe,.. lol wishbones bent...

my back disc smashed spinning me in to curb....ouch... was quite okeased when i saw the damage as it was minimal! lol..

when at toomey reno they had a leaflet about renault accident repair centres and is stated that the V6 clio, and new grand espace V6 had to go to a special renault accident centre who i think they were in herts.

i asked the service guys why and they said the v6 clio is a specialist car and that the body work needs specialist people to re-assemble.

reno quted me £846 for a brand new front bumper, but that was for a mk1, cant honestly see the mk2 being much more.

Hmmm interesting, I might give renault customer service a call and ask about that. Anyone else crashed a V6 that can provide any info on this?

in your case you have just done the front bumper so prob no real need to go to that place, but if you had damage to the bonded panels im guessing thats when you would need the renault place.

there are some weird things going on with renault .. i really dont wanna bang on about it but .. mkI side pod .. £200 ........mkII side pod £849.. price just gone up by 15 quid !!

4k isnt an unrealistic price from renault unfortunately ..

ronin get some prices before you decide to pay it yourself .. may save yourself stacks in the long run by going through insurabce.. o and if you do end up going through the insurance .. can you say that your pod fell off too !! ;)

Sorry but WTF has that got to do with anything. Moral of your story is dont drive up the arse of a gritter and you car wont get sprayed with grit. He pranged his clio cause of ICE on the road.
