You won't have issues if you use a well known company mate.

It ill be the local ones that don't specialise that will give you the problem.

Is it on after market management being a race car? If so I would strongly recommend Steve Greenald @ Track n Road which are in Essex (Rainham).

^^^Steve is ment to be good at what he does. However what a pair of dick head's they are to deal with.

His partner is a fcuking dick.

The place down Lakeside wasn't bad when we had a RR day there a fair few years ago. It's round the back of Ikea.

Abbey Motorsport in Oxted. Top guys and really know their stuff. Recently did a GEO setup for me and noticed they have their own dyno.

Mainly specialize in big power jap stuff but will cater to all needs.

I thought I was the only person that thought that, every time I read anything about R n' T it's been nothing but glowing reports.

I took my turbo'd Mx5 to him which at the time had an Emerald K3 fitted and thought the guy a total f**k idiot, I admit I never got him to map the car maybe if I had my opinion may be different but as my first encounter was so bad I looked elsewhere.

OP, what ECU (if standalone) are you looking to get mapped?, it may have a huge influence on people recommendation

@cat171 Your on about TDI which was next to AMD.

@Phase1sr Yeah, AMD are rather lenient on the rollers to keep the customer happy. A friend of mine had a 182 mapped there. Mods were decat Miltek and V6 box and it made 193bhp!
Cheers, I couldn't remember the name of the place 😊 Good meet that, we need another Essex RR day!!

Steve and Steve will do a quality job and whilst their time keeping might not be up to much, I never thought they were idiots! It was a number of years ago I used them last but I vaugley remember them generally not liking dealing with the public, they spent most of their time working on actual race cars for motorsport teams. I guess you get a lot of time wasters in the tuned scene.
'If' I convert my 200 to standalone I wouldn't hessitate to go back.

When I say idiot I did not mean they were not up to the job of competently mapping an ECU it was more to do with their general demeanour. I arrived at the agreed time and was then left standing there for 20 minutes after I'd introduced myself while they chatted between themselves (idle chit chat, not work related) without even a sorry we'll be with you shortly. He eventually plugged a laptop in while telling me of all his achievement and how everyone else couldn't map to his standard, after a cursory look over the existing map I was told they were too busy for the next couple of weeks and to call back later to book an appointment. I thought I had already made that appointment as we'd already had a 30min long conversation 2 weeks prior to turning up where I told he of my exact equipment’s, the spec of the car and it's intended use.

Most of the people that do use them are only grass roots motorsport participants which I would certainly class as the 'general public' it's hardly like they are used dealing with the likes of Mclarn, Farrari, Prodrive ETC..

Yeah that's pretty piss poor, manners cost nothing and that's just unprofessional. Having trailerd my car each time if I got told to come back I'd have parked it on the rollers and taken the keys!

We used to get them to do our Aston Martin race car's.
Never again, far to much time wasting.
