I grabbed the oportunity on Sunday to take advantage of a rain free day and gave the car some TLC. Having last week completed on a house purchase the poor thing had been turned into a shed. It's amazing what will fit in these little french hatchbacks when you try.
Anyway, some picsnapographs.
I've not been active on the forum for what seems like an eternity and with a day off today I spent a little time on the old girl before she has her 60,000 mile service next week.
After jigging the stealth about a bit and bodging a job on the exhaust mount I had it sitting well again. I checked...
I've just been sorting through some photographs and realised I hadn't posted these up. I took them just after the coilovers went on (things have compressed since ;) ).
Very impressed with the detailing bits I've bought recently - the car was actually dirty to the touch.
Does any one have...
Following on from the 'JDM Appreciation Thread' and becoming rather moist at each and every EK9 photograph, I've really come to love the little Honda.
Hopefully this takes off?
I'll start...
My 172 is fast approaching the big 60k and I wondered what will be being done at said service?
I'm pretty sure the details are printed in the owners manual but I can't seem to find the bloody thing anywhere.
I've not booked it in as of yet - worth having Renault do it or not?
Some...
Having waited a good few months for my V-Maxx coilovers to arrive I finally got around to having them fitted.
The college I work at has a brand new motor vehicle workshop and one of the racing team (yes, we have our own racing team!) technicians got them fitted, corner weighted, cambered and...
I've been toying with the idea of having a Cup spoiler fitted in black but then I remembered that there is a carbon fibre one in existance. I can't find any (decent) pictures of it though unfortunately.
Can anyone help?!
The car :
I've just purchased a set of 10mm spacers and have spent the last thirty seven minutes searching the forum for an answer to no avail.
What do I need to be buying in the way of longer wheel nuts?
I'm looking into getting some spacers. I know the centre-ring is 60.1 but the blurb states that the alloys must have a centre-bore of 72.6. Does this sound right?
I've just been browsing on cleanyourcar.co.uk and have thrown this little lot in the basket. The only thing missing is the snow foam but cleanyourcar don't sell the Bilt Hamber stuff.
What do you all reckon?
Passed you going the other way. Thought I saw you go to wave? I was having a bit of fun with a guy in an Audi so didn't fancy taking my hand off the wheel to wave back!
I pulled out of the end of my road earlier, changed into second, third, broke and changed down to second for a roundabout, into third, lifted the clutch past the biting point and OUCH! There were knocks and what I did think at first was the exhaust scraping kind of sounds.
It's horrible...
Some of you may or may not have seen me posting various comments about the place requesting help with fitting my rear FK Highsport dampers after the set failed to come with any FK-specific bushes. (Purchased second hand on the forum).
After trying to get hold of a set from FK Automotive direct...
I am desperately trying to get hold of a pair of rear bushes for my PH2 Clio 172 to allow fitment of rear dampers from my FK Highsport coilovers.
They did not come with any when I purchased them and the standard bushes are too narrow for the piston rods of the FK fixed dampers.
Any help...
I'm finally (and hopefully) getting these fitted on Saturday but a question over whether the rear dampers fit the standard rear top mounts has arisen.
Can someone clarify please?
Much love!
First thing is first, I need to purchase a tripod! Regardless, a good night had by all. Plenty of banter and some 'spirited' driving to finish things off.
Personal highlight for me has to be the clown in the Fiesta havin' a go on the Gatwick straight!.
One too many fails to mention, you know...
Took the clio to Devon over the weekend and snaped this quick shot of the car with friends on board. I had a bit of a play with the image and quite liked it, so thought I'd share it!
Continuing the theme, I sprayed up a set of wing mirror covers and the engine cover. I also gave the CAF trumpet a lick of paint and started on the engine cover bolts but rain stopped play.
Personally, I love the look that the wing mirrors give. The engine cover will need to be redone but you...
A few weeks back I managed to pick up a set of FK Highsport coilovers on here from Bex, who was having a clear out that the GDI office which I understand are Laura's old ones.
Having waited until Saturday for the brother of a friend to have time to kindly fit them, I was gutted to hear that...
I've just taken delivery of my new FK Highsport Coilovers thanks to BexGDI, but can't get them booked in with my mechanic for over two weeks. Understandably I'm keen to have these fitted sooner and wondered if some kind soul would lend a favour for some dollar in return?
Thanks in advance :)
