£180 Ouch...
I have same problem on my 182, I will try shortening the hose first.
2 supplimentary questions:
If I drain the fluid completely and refill with new ATF will I have problems with air in the system (if yes, will this just go away with use) ?
What colour fluid should I...
Test drove a 197 today while my Trophy was in for its 12K service. Dealer allowed me to really 'test' the car, staying away from dual carrageways in favour of a few miles of twisting country roads.
Plus points for me...
Cant argue with the claims of better build quality - it felt like a...
I took the pressures down to 32 - 30 and didnt like the way the car performed at speed - changed them to 35 - 32 and noticed a huge difference. The car was far more precise through corners and I could 'feel' the amount of traction that the tyres had at any time far better than at lower pressures.
cheers for the reminder, had mine for 4 weeks and noticed it would always try to wander to the right on the road slightly.
Just checked the pressures with a digital meter and they were crazy...

Hi guys, looking fo a little advice from the experts in here....
I am about to fit a replacement head unit to a 182 and just wanted to check if I need to disconnect the battery during the change ?
Also, is the alarm likely to go off when taking out the old head unit ?
Many thanks
DH
Like most of you guys, not sure at the moment - need to see one in the flesh. Looks nice from a couple of angles and a bit feminine from others. I am at the Dealership this weekend so will have a good look at the new regular Clio as I think it goes on sale from saturday.
quick update....
Spoke to the delaer again today and he said that the prices for the new clio model MP3 head units havent been released yet, but because it wouldnt be a factory install, he thought it would cost about £200 from the dealer.
I mentioned that you can buy a cracking head unit...
Dealer still hasnt got back to me (no suprise there eh !), but saw that someone was selling their original 182 head unit on ebay and asked them what they swapped it with.
He got back to me saying he dropped a Sony CDX F5550 in and the stalk controls worked without a lead. Found them an amazon...

Thanks for the suggestions guys...
Spoke to the dealer today and he said that there is an option to get an MP3 unit on the new model clio which will be available in the new few weeks, he is checking whether its a straight swap with the one in mine.
As a bonus the unit is capable of talking...
Quick question for ICE experts here...
Looking to pull out the standard Radio/ Single CD player that comes with the 182 Trophy and put in a replacement that will play MP3 tracks burned onto CD's.
Is there a model that will be a straight swap rather than having to buy adaptors as mentioned...
I have just found a company that sells the above high security versions:
http://www.priracing.co.uk/product.php?xProd=367http://www.priracing.co.uk/product.php?xProd=367
price at 14-sept-2005 is £38.72 including shipping
Just come back from Halfords and they wanted £33 for the regular ones.
My delivery date just came through for the car and its only going to take 3 weeks to arrive. Not bad as I have read that many of you have waited much longer for them.
I wonder if my number will be in the 400s ?
I have just PMd you the details, feel free to PM me with any more info that you want about the car.
Best advice is to Test drive the car for at least 45 mins along twisty back roads and then jump into a cupped regular 182 to see the difference. Oh yeah and turn off the ESP so you can feel the car.
I get to pick the registration number and find out the delivery date on Monday morning... cant wait !
Test drove the 182 full fat with cup packs and Trophy alternately for over 1 1/2 hours today and got a really good insight into both cars. The dealer took me to a great stretch of twisty...
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on Cliosport - you have given me tons of advice over the past couple of weeks and today I applied it all and bought my very own 182 Trophy !
Thanks to you guys I got a great price for the car from a main dealer and the negotiation was a doddle -...
Hi RB, thanks for the feedback.
The 11.7 is for a UK car, so now worries there. Thought long and hard about getting nearly new, but for the difference in price I get to run the engine in myself and know that I am not buying someone elses white elephant. Also I am buying it as a keeper rather...
Well guys, this is the weekend I buy a 182. I test drove a full fat with the cup packs fitted a couple of weeks ago and loved every second of it.
I have got a test drive in a Trophy tomorrow morning, followed straight after by a spin in a regular 182. I figured this was the best way to compare...
I used to own a first generation MR2 and was forever catching the front of the car on speed bumps unless I went over them at a little more than a few mph.
Is the 182 prone to this - especially the lowered Trophy ?
I was hoping that the extra lip that gets fitted to the bottom of the front...
