Humour lost on you guess. And my point remains if the book says 5w40, then that's what they should use. If they could use other grades, then the book shouldn't be specific. Anyway, I politely asked the dealer to check and they said they had used the wrong grade and would change it.

it's all a f*cking joke. I took it in at 08:15 this morning and from the sheet I can see they started work at 16:17. So £225 for less than an hours work.

it's going back in for warranty work anyway. I'm sure you're right that in reality in makes no difference, put if you pay a premium to get a Renault stamp in the book the least they can do is carry out the service as per the book

Tosh. It's not in the manual - it's in the service (maintenance) book which is the record the car is properly maintained and hence SPECIFIES the schedule and what work is to be carried out. Anyway, I shall be taking it up with them

The maintenance books says (I quote) For the Clio 2.0 16V Renault Sport engine and V6 engine for the Megane II 2.0 T engine, use ACEA A3 5W40 standard oil Sh*te english I know but that is exactly what is written

Book says 5W40 for the 2.0 litre engine so I'm going get them to change it. It's written in the front of the service book (shows they don't even read it)

Just had my 24K service. Noticed they've put in 10W40 instead of 5W40 as per the book. I'm going to complain but will it damage my car in the meantime? F*cking useless. They're also quoting £125+VAT for PE2 tyres each. Isn't that a bit steep?

I can't believe they're so expensive. Ford dealer wanted £170 for wing mirror supplied, painted & fitted. £170!!
