Humour lost on you guess.
And my point remains if the book says 5w40, then that's what they should use. If they could use other grades, then the book shouldn't be specific. Anyway, I politely asked the dealer to check and they said they had used the wrong grade and would change it.
it's all a f*cking joke. I took it in at 08:15 this morning and from the sheet I can see they started work at 16:17. So £225 for less than an hours work.
it's going back in for warranty work anyway. I'm sure you're right that in reality in makes no difference, put if you pay a premium to get a Renault stamp in the book the least they can do is carry out the service as per the book
Tosh. It's not in the manual - it's in the service (maintenance) book which is the record the car is properly maintained and hence SPECIFIES the schedule and what work is to be carried out. Anyway, I shall be taking it up with them
The maintenance books says (I quote)
For the Clio 2.0 16V Renault Sport engine and V6 engine for the Megane II 2.0 T engine, use ACEA A3 5W40 standard oil
Sh*te english I know but that is exactly what is written
Book says 5W40 for the 2.0 litre engine so I'm going get them to change it. It's written in the front of the service book (shows they don't even read it)
Just had my 24K service. Noticed they've put in 10W40 instead of 5W40 as per the book. I'm going to complain but will it damage my car in the meantime? F*cking useless.
They're also quoting £125+VAT for PE2 tyres each. Isn't that a bit steep?
I broke the mirror on my missus' 06 Focus. I've got a new mirror off Ebay but need to get the back panel primed and sprayed to match the car.
Anyone know how much this should cost? I just rang a place my mate recommended and he said £75! The whole mirror was only half of that!
Is fitting the...
yeah - it's dual carriageway upto the old power station now. You have to be a bit careful cos the police often park up by the car auction place but it was quiet so we had little blat upto about a ton but then I eased off back to 50 (the limit)
looked ok - although grey not the sexiest colour. The "D" on his plate was made to look like an "O" (so "V6 UFO").
I stopped to let him out of a junction and he spun the back out just pulling out! Had a little burn on a dual carriageway , not loads quicker than a 182 but did pull away. On...
I bought a spare 182 cup alloy (16in) with PE2 from a write-off. Scratched to f*ck but better than foam. Cost £100 including the tyre.
And it takes up loads of the boot (I travel a lot can cannot fit a suitcase in when I'm carrying the spare)
A Trophy in the Texaco fillings station as I pulled in, then followed and overtook a blue 172 (I think) heading towards Pfizer. You were on the phone (tsk tsk) :-) Around noon on sunday.
I only got offered £7.2K for my June '05 182 with Cup Suspensio Pack and 19K on the clock (was looking at a Skoda Octavia VRS). Decided against it because of the low price...
yeah I saw this earlier (my post was first:rasp: ) - the gearing has been one of the biggest criticisms so longer gearing makes sense (only the top two gears to will keeping the headline 0-60 time which is an important stat for sales)
Like Karen, I've got only a 1/2 cupped (suspension but no spoilers). I recall reading the tyres had stiffer sidewalls on the cupped versions too?
TBH I reckon for road driving there's probably nothing in it anyway; I just liked the anthracite wheels better.
Apologies if this has been posted before, but I've just read the new 197 Cup has longer 5th and 6th gearing (short gearing was a common criticism of the 197) and that the new gearing will be fitted to all new 197s from now on.
Has anyone tested one with the new gearing? Particularly interested...
