Russ_16v's ITB'd & Caged 182 Track Car (Was Crispy's)

  Qashcow
ive been tempted to fit it a few times lol, not mine sadly :(

its only because of the car reg in the background

  ITB'd MK1
Well it was actually misfiring because of a stupid HT Lead issue which is now sorted so it now doesnt sound like a subaru! but the car still has a little misfire, so perhaps when your free you could pop over like we discussed a little while ago and you could have a little lookie over the car, and balance the ITB's?

I can phone you to organise it if your still free some time? :)

give me a call in the week, can sort that out for you no problem

  BMW Z4
Haha, Mark is like the kid in the sweet shop and your the dad saying he's not allowed anything!

I suppose you could still have it as a flat floor but with no lip. Would still aid the airflow.

It cost me nothing which is why I did it :)

Kid and sweetshop yes that sounds like me LOL.. Car is ready for Lord Faulks attention now after today :)

Does it run now?

Yeah its all running beautyfully. I'm currently saving to buy a trailor so i can get it to trackdays.

A video to prove its running :)

Wouldn't you rather just tax it dude?

Tax - £240
MOT - Yeah i dont think so!
Insurance - £1000

I'd like to have it on the road, but its just too illegal the way it is.

I'm just going to pull it around on a trailor and if i bin it at a trackday or the car has a mechanical failure then i can get it home and fix it.

I'd like to try getting it to the Cliosport event thing, but i dont think i'll have my trailor in time :(

  TrackCar & F30 330d
Well I may rent a trailer to get it out and about.

I want to just test drive the car on some open land before I book my first trackday. But it will be soonish.

  172 turbo
whys it too ilegal mines similar spec and rd legal part from lights etc can u list what u reckon is not rd legal cheers?

No front lights
No reverse light
No numberplate light
Huge sun strip
No hazards
No speedo
On warning lights
Front splitter is illegal I think

It's things like that which I could fix and add to the car but I just don't want to. So getting it through a MOT would be somewhat a challenge!

Also I've now had enough of spending money on the car and just want to drive it flat out on track instead of just pootling around on the road.

wipers , how you going to see if it rains?
lovely car btw , if it was mine id make it road legal , be a shame waiting for the next trackday all the time ;)

  TrackCar & F30 330d
Oh yeah I forgot about the wipers. I have a single wiper mech from a citron ax at the front and the rear wiper has been removed.

good work sir... you are way ahead of me...lol

some people enjoy driving on roads....
and some can't afford just doing track days...

i don't put myself in either of those categories particularly i am just saying...

i will be initially be using mine on road and it will have tax and MOT,
if mine goes into competition it will be hill climbing or sprints so it will need MOT and Tax, if i keep it road legal then i can also test bits...

Yep, the hill climbs and sprints that I'd ever do the car needs to be road legal and MOT'd, mine is too OTT to race in any realistic race series like TDT etc

Agree with the road comments

Mines only got 2degrees of camber and bilsteins/cup racer suspension setup and it's a nightmare on the road

Trying to make a track car that is also driveable on the road is a silly compromosie

Oh my days, that read just took 3 evenings to get through. Addictive thread, awsome car bud. I hope to own a clio this ruthless one day:hail:

When is your first track day? Will be interesting to see how the splitter helps, have seen a few clios run them but mixed reviews on how they improve front end grip. I might knock one up come to think of it :D
