Yeah got some vids on my pc - managed to duct tape over the mic though, so the sound isnt very good :dapprove: Will host them at some point & post them up!!

Clio vs saxo on track, well i did 20 laps of the 'ring in my old 172 cup & it was brilliant, but the saxo is something else, infinitely adjustable before/on/over the limit & it almost seems directly connected to my brain - its truly an awesome piece of machinery. However, if you specced a clio up to the same level it would be similar in feel, if not price.

BUT (& its a rather large BUT), the Saxo has cost just under £2.5k all in, including the car, & it really does have the best parts available, a clio would be at least double, if not more.

If i want cams, throttle bodies, ecu & an LSD, i need another £1.5k for 165bhp & lots of grip. The diff alone for a clio would cost that ....

In addition, the parts are obviously interchangeable between 106's/saxo's as well, so bargains can be found on 106owners, 106RallyeRegister or Sax-P. The for sale section on CS is nowhere near as busy, so picking up 2nd hand parts is considerably harder ...

If i was made of money, i would have bought a clio, unfortunately im not, so a saxo imho was a very good choice, especially when they arent that much slower

Good work on teh Saxo. Did nigh on exactly the same with my 1600 106 xsi and that still gave the most smiles ive had in FWD!

Well, after only a couple of months of being roadworthy, im now breaking this for parts. Its a brilliant car, but i'm about to start doing an 80 mile a day commute, so both this & the Golf are going & i've put a deposit on something a little more 'sensible' ...

Mike (Budgie) is having the shell, so it'll certainly live on within the CS family

Ha ha, i think its partly the enjoyment of the build, partly that i love buying/selling things & partly that i just get bored easily lol. Oh, & i'm moving miles away from work, so the Golf & its 27mpg habit have to stop :S

Awsome! back in the clio brigade.. Sad to see the traxso being split but thats the way things go matey, gota roll with the punches. I guessed when I thought back to you saying it needed to be comfortable, fuctional but at the same time trackable!!

Final update.

It's fairly tearful, so ill keep it short.

Up until recenty, i owned the Golf & this, i was happy:

A couple of weeks ago, i 'accidently' added this to the collection:

This meant that for a week or so, i had a fairly enviable driveway.

Notice how 'hot hatches' are clearly getting bigger, & bigger as the years pass by ...

Unfortunately, i simply dont have enough space to keep them all, so last Monday, after a 6 month build, 1 track day & 1500 trouble-free miles in 2 months, this happened:

Mixed reviews on those, so far. They're pretty much on so I can move it about if necessary, and will probably be replaced by some standard VTS wheels.
