LOL Norm was telling me... You were both chasing a jag XKR IIRC?
Apparently on way back from FCS last year, norm in the clio TT and scoff in that 5 were chasing a 911 Turbo up the A50 doing 150 leptons. Seen epic videos of this car... Its crazy...
BTW scoff helped rebuild/fix//map the clio TT and he apparently knows his stuff...
Does all the work himself btw.

lol yeah the tt, scoff in the 5 me in the rb and middo in the sub heading up the m6 in the fast lane, smart arse in an xkr tries to undertake us all, scof dropped a cog and raped him lol, i dropped a cog and couldnt keep up lol

no thats just what people tend to say there are some good 10sec cars running turbo and high compression engines...
i have known scoff for years! i remember being at trax with rtoc one year and he did a 0-60 in his home made rear engine rwd r5gtt he went past the BRAKE!! board and carried on going... ended up in the kitty litter... when the stewards got to him and asked if he was ok and asked if the brakes had failed he replied with "na i fancied a drive" the guy is the most laid back person ever! and yeh he keeps stuff secret mainly because he doesnt want everyone copying him but also cos he isnt one to shout about what he has done, keeps him self to himself, you can see in that vid he just gives a little smile and a shrug... nothing phases him lol

granted yes you can run a turbo on a high comp engine but not if you want to run big power you cant. More room for forced induction + more fuel = bigger bang . . simpels.
Unless your talking about you wankel engined mazda of course then thats a completely different kettle of fish

Was in one of those yesterday 57 plate, STUPID QUICK, never been in a car so fast, its worrying at how fast it reaches that number near the end of the dials so fast.

thats where your wrong mate, ive been speaking to norm who is very good mates with scoff and that engine has only failed once back at fcs 07 when it was at the circa 300 hp stage of tune....that was down to the standard bottom end letting go!!
ever since hes not had one issue, scoff is that strict on the set up of his cars its unbeleavable, hes a living wizard.
someonce asked how much hes spent ( daniel i think)...well lol this is scoff were talking about here.....i can put money on it, he WILL NOT have spend more than 5k building that, he scoures the net for cheap stuff, he would rather machine stuff to fit of other cars than buy one of parts....for example, hes uses a volvo crank machined to fit....ala saving him £££££££££££

considering it snapped a rod a few months back, has blown crank seals, and quite a bit more in 2009, you better check your info

It was his engine for 2009, far from standard. forged steel rods.

absolutely awesome I love norms work.
However, If this wasnt a 172 engine, and not a Renault 5, Lets say it was a VXR Vauxhall Engine, Tuned up, In say a Nova or Corsa or any car around this age (basically an early late 80s 90 hot hatch s**t box) You would all be flaming it lol.

Full feature on this car in July's Practical Performance Car magazine.
Says at time of the feature when it was running a reported 370 bhp and did a 11.2 second quarter 127 mph trap, ''no fancy forged pistons or steel conrods, all standard 172 parts''
Looking at this car and the 172 engine, you'd think their would be more big power 172 / 182's kicking about. Engine has clearly got potential there
