[Aug 1, 2015] ClioSport Saturday 2015 (Blyton, Gainsborough)

  172
Can't help but echo everyone's comments, the range of activities was great (karting, track, bbq, tent, music etc) & the camping/evening turnout eclipsed other CS Saturdays so a big thanks to the admin team (great value too @ £20 for 3 days). Gutted I didn't turn up in a Clio, but huge thanks to those who took me out as a passenger:

  • The straights were very economical in @JP83 's DCI, but the braking & corner speed of the wan-li-triangle-ling-longs was pleasantly surprising. Seems to have learnt to be very smooth & precise with all of 86 BHP, reckon you're going to be annoyingly quick at CSS '23 when you eventually finish your 172...
  • @Pacman. 's driving style was hilarious, an exact replica of his personality & I really don't know why I expected anything different  BTCC spec maximum attack was a right laugh, spent more time on two wheels hopping over kerbs than on four!
  • On-track highlight for me was an epic time in the wet with @Bunta !!! A couple of laps getting a bit of heat into the tyres & we had the track virtually to ourselves exploring the limit and . Enjoyable & informative chat with you & your father about driving styles for the MR2.

My throat is still killing from that!

"What would your reaction be if you were in a bit of bother?"

"How much bother?"

"A spot of bother"

😂😂😂

That's it!!!!!!! And it's just set me off again! I'm sat here in stitches!!!

hahahahahahahahaha 'a spot of bother'

Sam is a proper proper geezer.

The fact that you are all saying how much you enjoyed it makes all the blood sweat and tears of the last 10 months all worth it.

Thank you to everyone for helping to make it such a brilliant weekend. At the end of the day it's you lot that make these events a success.

Fosters anyone?:beers::cool:

Great day yesterday, shame I couldn't stay for the night as I took the opportunity to visit relatives who live near to Blyton Park.

Good to meet @Fraser.J. @benji93 @Knuckles @Sunglasses_Ron and to catch up with everyone else.

I thought the Blyton Park track was great fun, interesting variety of corners, especially trying to take Port Froid flat out.

I was really pleased with my Storm Grey 172 considering it's got a full interior and all I've done to it is fit a set of 2118's with AD08R tyres and @Cub.'s used DS2500 front pads. I was expecting it to be one of the slower cars but it performed really well and not much overtook it.

It was nice to attend CS Saturday in a Clio for the first time as well.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to organise the day and make it a success :grinning:

How did the shown n shine go Dave?

It was great. Daniel and I did the judging but by the time we announced the winner he'd left 😂

I'm going to try and track him down on here and we will send his prize. If we can't track him down we will hold a competition on the forum.

CarPro were uber generous with the prizes! Thanks for sorting it brosef!

You better be there next year!

Had a truly cracking weekend, a laugh from the moment we arrived till we left. Cant remember much as my head is still hanging badly. What I do remember is :
Going go karting in the morning with @Typhoon @fairm010 @JP83 @Pacman. @Steven103 . Managed to smack into the tyre barrier and got covered in dirty stagnant water not to mention taking half the skin off my leg. Was a lot of fun as everyone will agree. Steve and Mat were blindingly quick at this and constantly had one of them behind me trying to nudge me off lol.

This is the 2015 CS KARTING CHAMPION - Im sure it had something to do with his divine intervention lolz:

After that we spent a few hours watching the track action.
Took a load of random pics of car out on track, not the best pics but wth.

after the band finished we all sat outside getting completely drunk hours passed by chatting to everyone, got to say @james24785 is a top bloke loved chatting to you and your other half. By 2AM there was only a few of us hardcore drinkers left we got hungry, very hungry. @dann2707 had a great idea that we should order some pizza haha, we tried every takeaway place but no where was open...... 2 minutes later Dan appeared with a bbq and some hamburgers , what a legend !. We just couldnt wait for the bbq to get hot enough so took the grill off it and put it on top of the fire pit which was now roastingly hot (i have no leg hairs or hair on my hands anymore.
Eveything was going perfectly until it was time to turn the burgers over, we should have just left them tbh..
GrrNeOr.jpg
2 seconds later the whole lot was in the fire haha, Ross and Dan trying their hardest to rescue it.

Phew..... 2 lost burgers but rescued 2:

Ross holding the grill up with 2 sticks haha. James and me in stitches by this point.
We were all laughing so much that the whole grill dropped again. This time all the burgers were lost, Dan trying in vain to rescue it haha.

No food for you Dan ! never seen a man so gutted. PMSL....
PHCP0PK.jpg

Went to bed at what must have been 3:30, so so much snoring coming from all directions , even heard someone being sick. I thought I had found a good spot for our tent - when we arrived we asked JP where his tent was and then set my tent up as far away from it as possible lol.
Then 3 hours after going to bed I wake up to hear @Steven103 munching CocoPops and Honey nut loops dry without milk. Strangely I wasnt too hungover but was still drunk.
CSS ended with a lovely bacon roll and then watching some amazing cars with Steve for a bit.

The big highlight for me was winning the GoPro ! never won anything before so was chuffed to bits.... I did blow £20 on raffle tickets though. THANK YOU @MicKPM !!!

Got to say a massive massive thank you to the admin team for all the hard work that was put in. really cannot wait till next year when I will have my clio back so I can go on track.
Thanks Cliosport.net for an amazing weekend.

I've just realised i'm reading everyone's posts in their accents now haha
Omg. I hope you don't read mine in my accent! Its horrific!... been listening to myself while editing in car footage.

Wow I sound like a dumb/slow/retarded clown. [emoji106] [emoji33]

Your car looked cracking. Really wanted to take a closer look, interior looked proper tidy through the window. Wanted to have a sit in your seats to see how comfy they are [emoji5]
You find them good?

I was supposed to head over, got caught up in a bit to much house work and had to cancel.

Seen a few clios whilst I was out in the Megane.

It was really nice to meet you and your other half mate.

Was a great night in the big tent with the band wasn't it!

It was brilliant mate! Was good to meet you too :) and thanks for making my Mrs feel welcome. She really enjoyed it

Sh*t, was that you sat right at the front by the speakers? Didn't know, would have said hello!

Yes mate that was me. I didn't even know you were there until someone mentioned your name, but it was about 3am and you'd gone to bed lol gutted didn't get to say hello! Next time mate!

Had a great weekend, great atmosphere and lots of laughs. One of the best car related weekends I've had.

Props to the CS admin team and their helpers for putting on a great event! The band were really good too - can anyone tell me their name?

Really enjoyed the karting. Managed to crash into the tyres quite spectacularly on about my second or third lap. Didn't expect to set the fastest lap as I'm not far off 15 stone - maybe the extra ballast helped with grip on the high speed corners! Thanks for the trophy and CS mug :)

Roll on CSS 2016! :car::beers:
