Ignore it for a couple of weeks. Then get back on the horse.

Don't make me come up there and get all huffy and puffy!!

Regards Oulton - you can passenger in the flamemobile and show me the lines
That's what I've done for the past 2 weeks mate, just ignored it.

I'll let you know for oulton mate. The lines are simple anyway. I didn't find it difficult to pick up at all.

Tbh it had to be said :tongueout:

Get it done, smash your 8:31 on the ring. Sell it feeling satisfied with what you've done, and then go and get your crotch rocket and extra tight "damn you sexy Flanders" leathers.
We shall see mate.

Well done, please keep us updated.

Do you think the PMS manifold will fit with a stock Inlet manifold if the coil pack mount was cut back to clear it and then relocated?

You would be better off waiting until next year now as you would only have a couple of decent months left.
Yeah true. Winter always see's the bargains come out to play as well. The lads I know with bikes haven't even had theirs out this year either, and after a couple of legends went up the inside of me when the wife was in the car, well you can imagine! Lol!

LOL, I assume you were told to get the car sorted and forget the bike then.
I have only used mine twice this year once for MOT and went to Donington one evening to see Mick and ended up sweating my tits off in my leathers.

Nah she knows that doesn't work with me mate! Lol! Just got the tut and look of disapproval! Tbf, they went up the inside of me at 100+, so they really were asking for trouble.

Awesome build mate, just read the whole thread....very impressed with the attention to detail with all of it and the engine bastardisation is just epic, different is good!
Don't make it another classic 'big build' and not even finish it, get it done and enjoy it at least....then if it still doesn't do it for you, get the bike ;)

Cheers. It's certainly something very different to what you usually see that's for sure.
The plan is to have a proper attack at the 'ring in it next year now. I've sacked it off for this year. Maybe do a track day later on in the year to judge it's performance/get a feel for it again.

It's still going to take me a while mate to get it done as I'm really not rushing at all now. It'll be a case of if I get up in time in the afternoon and I've got nothing else on I'll go in the garage.

See above mate. Lol - not fully interested, but there's enough come back to make me consider going in the garage.
You could pretty much run this on your standard loom and ecu mate tbh. I'm only talking about starting it up though as the fuelling will be way out.

Wiring wise you need an ecu that will read the cam phase sensor signals and convert them from analogue to digital (pwm). You will also need the wiring in place for that sensor as well.

That's pretty much it tbh, unless you want to add the wiring in to run coil on plug like I'm doing. It's not essential though.

So, trackday tyres are/have lost their E marking and are coming with 'competition use only' stamped on the sidewalls.................Well that f***s the touristenfahrten driving at the 'ring then.
The new R888R is an E marked tyre and will also be available in the size I'm after (205/45-16), but with no delivery dates for them yet means no track outings until I've got a set of tyres.

I've got a few irons in the fire so to speak atm trying to source the kumho's with the E marked sidewalls, so we shall see what comes from that. Maybe there will be some old stock knocking about.

well.. first, no matter what bring back to life this project, its amazing one and i'm glad you didn't abandoned it :)
about the ecu, there's any guide maybe how to fit the cam phase sensor from analog to digital ?
from how its sound, its need to be simple one, just need to know where to wire what lol
cheers

Where did you get the info on the tyres mate?
Good to see you are finishing the car...now come visit Zandvoort some time!

There's no way to convert the original ecu to run the cam phase sensor signal mate I'm afraid.
If you run a gen90 ecu (like I will be) I can tell you what pins need to see a signal for it to work.

I've known about it for a while mate tbh, but it's only now that I'm being affected by it! A048's are being redone as A050's and the 888's are going to become 888R's. The kumho's are going to be safe. It's all to do with the EU tyre labelling b****cks mate.

I'd definitely consider zandvoort! It'll be spa first though.

Do you have info on exactly which tyres are now illegal? I heard this all a few months ago but my R888s were still E marked when I got them last week. Are there any hard and fast rules yet?

No tyres are illegal mate. It's only if they don't come with the E marking on them that they become not road legal. It will be quite some time before old E marked stock runs out as well, so I wouldn't let it concern you at all. I've only come up against this issue now due to the tyre size I'm wanting.

To extract the maximum you'll need a new ecu mate. Gen90 will run on a ph1 as well.
I don't personally like omex as its a bit old fashioned imo.

Lol! Road legal ftw! We could attempt to coincide it with the Rs day at spa.

Can't you get some Dunlops 03G's in the size you want?
No mate unfortunately not. The tyre situation may well be sorted now though. Will update on that in the next few days.
