Buy some CarPro reload for White mate, make sure the paint is prepped nicely and you'll get the best from white.

Daft as it sounds... toothpaste.

I used oral B professional [emoji14] as it's quite abrasive and grainy. Breaks down easy. Did mine in the car and it's a massive improvement! Took 10 mins.
Obviously removing it and doing it properly is best.

For a quick fix I can't fault it. Don't overdo it though or you'll have dried tooth paste in nooks. Lol

For no reason other than I fancy some light reading and want to confirm/deny what I know about it.

plenty of threads on DW just search for matte in the titles and click studio only. Plenty there.

Swissvax is one of the better ways to go. I know Nanolex brought out a range but the pre cleanser from SV restores so much lost gloss and depth to matte paint. RS500 on DW is a good read to see the difference.

Not to undermine or second guess the guy or anything, but he's saying you shouldn't be rubbing stuff on your paint as that means you'll have to get the machine out to correct it... Fair enough, that's what the chemicals are for...

So he's gone and developed a decontamination product which is applied via da?!

So rather than dissolving the contamination from your paint then claying off any excess (which should only be done when machine polishing anyway) you're grinding away at that contamination with a foam pad?

Surely that'll contaminate/ruin the pad, and in turn smear all of that contamination back across the paint.

Can someone explain the point of this product as I appear to be missing it.

Only read the OP, but to me it sounds like he's just slating other products for personal gain. A cleanser isn't a touch less product, but IX, tardis etc is, so unless you're a r****d who dives straight it with clay he isn't right imo.

That sounds like his market now that you mention it.

Rather than informing them correctly he's offering a 'miracle product'

That product has been out a while. Often see it in his details. Uses it as a pre wax cleaner with a MF applicator. AF tripple does that, nothing new there. But to go at a car with the aim of removing tar and organic spots is just silly IMO

You often hear of him slating other peoples details and him having to rectify it.

What pads and polish are you using, sounds like it isnt cutting enough. Where abouts in Oxfordshire are you. Anywhere near Summertown?

Using the AF pack of 3 polish/pads.
I'm at Brize Norton.

Lol. Fail 1.0 the first edition. As @aucky has said, the whole point of IronX and Tardis (other decontamination products are available folks) is that they remove the majority of crap before you clay. Therefore a mild clay is needed rather than a harsh clay that can inflict marring.

His product rubs the tar and other contaminants around the paint just at higher speeds while possibly cleansing at the same time!

And he says he's not had to clay any vehicles? Overspray not been a problem on any details then I assume...

Very rarely do I need to use clay on my own cars as regular top up or protection detail using a tar remover before hands sees very little in the way of bonded contaminants so I typically only use the soft white meguiars or autofiness clays.

A local shop should be stocking BH so keen to try it out

BH is pretty much the only clay worth buying surely. Sonus was good but they changed it. Zaino is the only thing close but expensive.

Grab the soft one. I've never needed a medium clay. BH don't make a bad product. It's the whole reason they don't release a lot, everything is made in their own labs so to speak.

Auto-clay is available in regular, medium and soft grades. Regular for intensive cleaning of moderate to heavy contamination and / or summer use, soft clay is designed for more frequent and / or winter use and medium clay is suitable for all round use. All grades contain exactly the same particle size and low moh's hardness pure mineral filler.

It's the above that has thrown me a little

Got to agree with that. Bilthamber have some amazing products and they work incredibly well.

Read the machine polishing guides stickied at the top of this section, specifically the 'zenith' technique.

I've got brilliant results with the auto finesse set and the zenith technique.

Also, draw a line on your backing pad and alter your pressure so it's always spinning at the same rate (Or as close to the same as you can get it) when cutting and polishing.*

*not for the initial spreading around of the polish.

Hi mate! Does the nozzle have 2 settings? Stream and spray kinda thing? It is more jet due to the type of product imo that's why I always spray on to the MF cloth.

What can I use to get the underside looking better. I really want to spruce up the metal like the sump and that sort of stuff. there seems to be lots of white powdery stuff on it. I was thinking brillo pads as I have tried AG machine cleaner in the past and although its good for shifting grease and oil it doesnt really clean the metal or make it look nice. click the picture for zoomed in view.

They are nothing more than cleaners or degreasers. All they will do is remove dirt, not bring out any shine

If it's anything like the one supplied with mine, fella, it will take a bit of fine tuning... sounds like it's one of those that you turn a certain amount, no?
