Your current kit round 2!

I think there have been a lot of changes since the last thread... so whats everyone shooting with now and why?

I started with a D40, then got a D60 when it broke (briefly toyed with a 450D but was not for me!). Sold the D60 to fund a D90 but due to numerous financial s**te I ended up without a camera for a while and used the other halfs Olympus E-420 and I really enjoyed using it.

So after sorting out finances and deciding to get a new camera I went for an Olympus E-620 twin lens kit. Bought a lowepro 120aw which is very compact and fits all the kit in plus 2 x 4gb CF cards.

Its feature packed and does all that I want it for in a very compact package.

How are you finding the 50 1.4? I have read quite a few comments from people who say it is not really usable between 1.4-2.2! There are others who say that they can use theirs at 1.4 and still get sharp images but I was worrying a bit having already placed the order.

Cheers.

Not had it for long so not had the chance to use it that much but I had the 50mm 1.8 before and the 1.4 is feels so much nicer to use. Auto focus is quick and a lot quieter than before and you can tweak the focus manually as well.

Don't know where Clogville is lol but you're welcome to try it out. Sure you won't be disappointed with it.

Cheers for the info. Do you have any sample images shot at 1.4? I am just curious to see what they are like.

I live over in Holland. A bit far from Irvine but thanks for the offer. :D

Mine is already ordered so should hopefully be here inside of a week or two, if I can't get on with it, I'll just sell it on and get the Sigma I guess.

nice lens, 82mm thread is a pain, vignettes like a b**ch at 24mm wide open, and mine miss focuses so sending it to sigma as soon as. Seems its pretty common with this new HSM model but its easily fixed so not worries.

Ah sorry, I was thinking you meant the Canon equivalent. The Sigma by comparison looks like a massive bargain, especially if you can get the autofocusing fixed. Can't believe what Canon charge sometimes.
