would 172 Mk1 wheels fit on a Mk2

  not a clio anymore

I am looking to get a spare set of wheels for trackdays. Would the wheels of an Mk1 fit on my mk2? I know someone posted pics of his clio on a track with 15 steel wheels so I guess it would possibly be ok but would like confimation

Thanks

Ug I wouldnt be using steelies as trackday wheels - ALOT of heat is built up from braking etc and steelies dont desapate it well, and have been know to collapse.

But to answer your question - yes they will fit unless you have upsized brake discs.

Thanks. I have standard brakes. Ideally Id like to find some cheap Mk2 wheels, but there are some Mk1 on sale at the mo for a price close to what I would want to pay, so I am just thinking: "shall I?"

Yeah, they are just 15" alloys, they fit a newer one fine and I have a spare set of 15" alloys (off my R5) as track wheels...
