sounds like you need to re-enter your key. my tosh laptop gets like this i have to remove the prefered wireless network then find networks and the re-enter the wpa key

I had this when installing my Orange Livebox.

Aquiring a Netwrok address means that its trying to get an ip address from your router through DHCP.

The only way I got mine working is by holding down the pairing button then connecting the router to my laptop with an RJ45 cable [not crossover] then when the network was found enter in the WEP key and wait.... I then got the ip address.

Strange though - my other laptop connects to my router when it finds the network and I manually enter in the WEP key but when I save the profile it disconnects. When I try and activate the saved profile it doesnt connect!

I need to have a play with the routers potocols - think its because my router is set to WEP and WPA - where i should just set it to WEP only.

it seems to me like your laptop and wii may be using the same ip address. manually configure the wii to use a different one.

your running within 2chanells of someone elses network. Change the chanell to atleast 2 chanells away from the other person. The network would just sudenly drop and then come back on to aqquiring a DHCP IP.

that has nothing to do with it.^

I'm CCSP & CCNA, I've done massive wireless project's. I Know what I'm talking about. It's only dropping in the first place to aqquire the DHCP because of chanell conflict's.

EDIT: My apologies I only very briefly read the first post. so was completely misinformed.

its simply ip address issues. i have experienced similar problems with my 360 when connecting it to my router and television.

Yep will log onto http://cisco.netacad.net if you so wish. Worked for an ISP in meridian gate and done the L2TP feed's sorted out the diverse fibre's and the GBIC's coded all the routers etc then took a 2week CCNA course. CCSP took the last 2yrs @ my own pace, all of my online exams are finished and passed for CCSP i've simply got to do my practical in Sunderland :(

CCNP/CCIE next! It's not as good as it sounds and mostly focuses on proprietary cisco protocols. I'm busy doing frame relay atm (CCNP).

I'm also pretty clued up in SIP protocol (VOIP) and again proprietary SCCP. So if you have any Asterisk/Trixbox or SIP/IAX/SCCP question's I'm your man.

And if you really still dont believe me I'll post my Cisco 837 ADSL router's config. or my 2924's config or 7506's BGP table.

Damm that reminds me I miss my old 7206VXR really badly.
