WILLIAMS PLAYING UP PLEASE HELP!!!

  2010 focus Rs
Right read this and tell me if it puzzles you aswell!!

The problem lies with the PAS, ever since i brought the car i lost my PAS, up shot was i got it looked at and got told more than likely the pump so.. after 5.5hrs labour and a new recon pump (total £260) the thing didnt change (still noisy and throwing fluid out resiviour).
next i got it booked into steadfast autos which they said there 99% sure that the rack has gone! thought sod it as thats 5hrs labour aswel, so after spending £650 on new rack etc IT WAS SOLVED :) !!!! but for a WEEK! dam it, took it back to them, so on and so on they say they found a grommit slipped off the rack which he put back on but it change nothing!
now... he says hes 99% sure the recon pump has gone faulty already (i was pulling my hair out by now) after thinking about kicking every panel in i layed down the credit card and took it on the chin and had a GENUINE reanult pump with new pulley and flange fitted with a complete flush out and pipes checked (totalling £500). pulled away from the workshop and all noises came back with fluid coming out the cap  !!! im now about to kill everyone at the garage while hes scratching his head just as puzzled as i am.
The latest now is im being told theres nothing else to be checked and that it seems the rack which steadfast done is gone up the creek AGAIN!!!
SOMEBODY PLEAS HELP ME I HAVE SPENT ALMOST £1400 MESSING ABOUT TRYING TO DODGE RENAULTS IMENCE £90per hour!!

WOW £1400 on PAS Lol. Worst comes to worst should of just got it up on ramps.

Droped the subframe changed the Steering rack for a 2nd hand one of some one breaking a clio
with a 2nd hand pump and pully of the same clio
wouldnt of cost you more then £50

( didn't think the PAS had much at all involded with it. to go wrong )
did they reuse the old pipes of the old rack ?

as said. Check pipes. A blockage could be your problem. Get pipes off a car thats being broken. Be warned. The PAS pipes (around the pump) are phase specific. So if you have a Phase 2, you need phase 2 PAS pipes. I noted this doing my engine swap.

Make sure you give your new pipes a good ol soak in some good stuff and then bang em on. Find a valver in a scrappy and a mate to help and it could be dead cheap.

yeah the only reason why i have paid so much is because its a mint williams so i want to do everything by the book, wouldnt use brand new parts if it was a escort lol

ok, i have a willy three so its the phase 2, now when they put the new rack on the pipes on the rack are black (apose to green before) so imagining they changed the lot as i paid for a new rack! however if what your saying about the phase 1 and 2 pipes is true does that mean that the williams phase 1 rack wont operate properly with my phase 2?? cheers guys its all helping

right i took it back to steadfast autos today and told them the latest which they didnt like (got arsey when talking to me), and they tried questioning the quality of the garages work who just done my pump, which i wasnt having :nono: as i have had 2 pumps fitted by different garages and both didnt solve problem so its all pointing at the rack, so its now booked back in for a check up but they said if they have to take it off and send it back for further investigation and a fault doesn't pop up i will get a big bill  . (talk about try & scare the customer)

When steadfast changed the rack it cured the problem but came back a week later so its got to be rack related????
however i do remember taking it back the day after rack was fitted due to them over filling the resiviour which they admitted to and drained alot out, could this cause a valve on the rack to blow?????
i thinking im slowly pinning the b***tard down now
