Which Spring Kit?

Hi all,
Ive just become a 172 owner again after 3 years!. I decided to buy myself another seeing as though i loved my other one so much!.
I just want some advise seeing as though ive been out of the game for a while. Ive currently got 17's on it but its sitting on standard springs ( i know yak) but i bought it like that. I was wanting to lower it and was wanting to know what to spring kit to use?, its a 2001 Phase 2 so im not sure if i should replace the shocks too. Any ideas on what to use ( i dont want to spend loads, Koni's, Jamex, Apex??
Any help as to where is quite cheap at present etc would be most appreciated.

just put apex on mine and it looks the dogs cheap to. people say the ride is crap but i dont find it that bad to be honest better than standard

Coilovers = 450 + 100 quid setup.

^^ by far your best option.

If you value your handling alot, remove the 17s too and change for 15s or 16s

agree with sam i will be changing to coilovers when have the dosh and also about removing the 17`s 16`s i find handle the dogs

Saying i go with the Apex kit... where is the cheapest?... are we talking KTEC at all or somewhere else? I see that KTEC do an APEX kit for about £250 incl Shocks etc.?? with 40ml drop?
