Valver Fuel Consumption

When I first had the valver the fuel consumption was quite good but lately its gone seriously bad. Recently I managed to get just 70 miles out of a quarter of a tank! Any ideas what may be causing this? I havent been driving the car hard to see the fuel consumption so its not that by the way!!! Any ideas would be gratefully received :D

Sounds about right to me.

70 miles per 1/4 = 280 miles per tank = 28mpg.

I get about 300 tops! I've only once managed 330!

Have you been doing a lot of town driving? Or short journeys? Have you changed to Tesco 99?

General view seems to be that the bio-ethanol bit of it (I think that's what it's called?) seems to give worse mpg than 'normal' petrol.

Mine runs ok on it but seem to get less to the tank! lol

If you can do a whole tank of it and then a whole tank of something else to compare the difference :)

I generally use whatever is the cheapest tbh. The car is due a service, do you think I should change the fuel filter? If so, would it help?

Don't see why it would affect mpg - it just filters the fuel!

Might as well do it though if it's not been done for a while - only a £10 part or so!

BP Ultimate gives me anything between 28mpg -> 32mpg.

I found normal unleaded gave me about 26mpg.

Ultimate makes it feel MUCH better
