The thing is though that guy says he struggled against the 197. yet in his signature it says his car does 60 in 3.7s and 12.5s 1/4 mile!! Surely he should have eaten the 197??

That doesn't really mean a whole lot really. It's just a perception from one person. He says he was quicker but not as much as he would have expected? What does that mean? Not a lot IMO.

But when he says he found it easier to beat an Escort Cosworth. A std. Cosworth should be quicker than a 197. The Escort should do 60 in the high 5's.

I can see what your saying though Roy.

Yeah true enough, but it's really only one persons perception, still. Maybe the Cosworth driver wasn't trying too hard (zzzz ) or some other factors were involved. I know a bloke at work who reckons a 182 gave his STi TypeUK a run for his money, but all that really meant after a few minutes chatting to him, was that "I had to drop down a gear to fend him off"...meaning the 182 driver was probably leathering the f**k out his car etc. etc. etc.

If you watch Top Gear a Stilo beat an EVO FQ-400 in a straight line drag in top gear, maybe it was a similar scenario.
