Torsion troubles

Ok, we lowered Johns coupe the other day and its looking sweet!

Only thing is that when we were down for FCS we heard a noise. I have checked teh car and the drivers side torsion bar is loose and can be taken out by hand (firm hand).

What can cause this the bars both sit even on both sides and teh pass one is tight in.

I was thinking about using a touch of lock tight so that it wasnt to move??

Suggestions.

Wouldn't think locktite is the best solution! The mk1 owners should be able to help!

I couldn't even get mine off, seized solid!

Open,

i have dried all the Wd 40 off and added a very light touch of lock tight (no harm) and put it back together, seems better now. But ill let john try it for a few days and see how he gets on.

Yeah still doing it, only below 30mph. Wheel bearing is also on the way out but this noise started on Friday, bearing started making noise on Saturday night at FCS!

Just been out again trying to find it. Its definitly the right hand side, with the car jacked up you can move the bar a little with some force by hand but not when on the ground.

Doesnt seem any bounicer than the other side so not convinced about the shock but may do it anyway. Is it possible water has got in somewhere when I was cleaning the arches for FCS?

Hmm I dont see why that would cause any problems?

The bar will no go in any further, so im really not sure of the problem. maybe price a bar up and if they are cheap enough just change that/
