Superchips

Just called them today - dont use rolling road to set up mapping for cars with mods but do use a different map for modded cars. Cost about £290 all in with about 9/10 BHP and 10/12 f Lbs torque.

Anyone had this done on a 172 / cup ? and was it worth it ?

  Renault Laguna Coupe

Some Superchips dealers (e.g. London Superchips) will do a rolling-road remap to suit your mods. Beware of power claims for off the shelf maps!

I spoke with main enquiries number. They said for the mods of Air filter and Exhaust they would just email superchips for the correct map and it would be close enough without rolling road as the dealerships do not have them.

Any success stories with superchips ???

I got mine Superchipped b4 I got the Rsport. It didnt add much power or torque but did feel better/more responsive. Took it off and got the Rsport on. RRd wwith no increase in power or torque but made the difference thru the gears. Much better than the Superchips was IMO.

GET IT NOW!! lol

Havent had a service yet but my mate works there so he might be able to sort it for me. If not, it takes 20mins or so to unplug the Rsport and replace the Original ECU so not a big deal really

v. happy with mine too.

20 mins to swap the ECU though Chris - u jest my friend.

Another hour to get the metal cover off, take the battery out, fish the torx bits out the engine bay etc. etc.

Does the r-sport ecu come with instructions and if so can one of you give me the website or tel no. to get one cheers?

Also have been thinking about getting the BMC cda enclosed induction kit, or the quickshift Taipan 2 enclosed enduction which one is better and also Are they both NOT foam as that does not appeal to me?

Ive had my cup superchipped. Some observations:

Feels gutsier lower down, ie 3000-5000 revs
Less noticable VVT crossover
Can feel a little breathless beyond 6500
RR showed only 3bhp increase, but 10lb ft; bear in mind that this was done during the really hot period in early august - it was 91 degrees F (before was 164bhp and 144lb ft, after chipping was 167 and 154)
Easily reversible, as its a simple flash of the ECU - mind you, you need to take it back to the dealer who chipped it and pay £50ish!
Comes with a years warranty
Economy unaffected, ie still 35-37mpg however hard I drive, & had 42.7 on a round trip of 600 miles.
£293 inc VAT and flashing = no more expensive than R-sport
Cant say if its better or worse than R-sport ecu - so I respect Chris-n-Nics view above.
