Strange constant knocking noise

not such a good day for the flame red.

In the morning i noticed that in 1st gear pulling away slowly i begin to hear a knock. Its only 1 knock rather than constant banging.. I thought ok mounts are on its way out. 2 weeks ago Mike at rentech had a look and advised i get the mounts changed some time in the near future as there was a knock as it comes on cam as well. OK nothing to drastic But as for today day.

That knock in first gear turned into constant knocking. Ill try to explain it.

It happens in any gear when i lift off at 20mph.. As the car slows the rate of knocking reduces.

When i put it in neutral and lift off from 20 and on the breakes theres hardly if any knocking..

I recently had my Cv boot fixed and when renault did an inspection they found it to be leakin (not too sure wat all that means)..

Now has anyone have any possible idea what on earth this knocking is?

cheers for any help.

I know it sounds stupid but are all the wheel bolts on ok?

And are you sure it isn't just the strut knocking? If so washers will fix it.

yeah wheel bolts should be ok, stopped on the way home and had a quick look at it. For a minute i thought i had a flat tyre.

Not to familure with strut knocking, - think there was a sticky about this, ill have a look

this knock only happens in a straight line, theres nothing on turning. :(

i had knocking like this... turned out to be a pair of wheel bolts loose on the front passenger side...

right...

tomorrow going to have a look at the wheel bolts to make sure their on tight.

As for the checking the wishbone/antiroll bar joint i have no idea where abouts that is. I dont suppose anyone could tell me how to spot it. Firstly can it be seen when i remove the wheel? or do i need it on a ramp. etc

Turn the wheel to full lock then look at the underside of the wishbone.

right.. thanks for the replies.. turned out .ALL 4 bolts were loose

local tyre shop changed tyres last week, looks like they forgot to do it.

No harm done, no money spent and now, no noise.
