still need my boot space!

hi there i am wanting to get an amp and sub but as im a student i still need to keep my boot space for traveling, also with me being a student i dont have alot of cash to spend!! :(

please help

im in the same position, i am thinking of the genesis subs that are in the shape of 6*9 (not normal 6*9s no) and they can work in infinate baffle, so in the parcel shelf, but will be better with enclusures under the shelf. Also JL do 6" subs, so look at the section about fitting 6" mids in the rear quater pannels, these porb wont be as good as the genesis ones as surface area and as far as i know they are sold signularly(the JLS that is)

As for the amp, if you car is 5door under the passenger fornt seat, if not you have many options for monting in the boot, eg, screw to the back of the back seats, false floor, in the dip for the spare whell (but that means you have to do away with the wheel!) i built a amp box

wheres the section about fitting mids in rear quarter panels??

what are views upon installing a 6" mid from a component set without the tweeter wired up, so just the mid in the rear? instead of a 6" sub

the section is a thread in this section, dont know if it has been pushed into the 2nd page but it was there when i posted it,

dont know, suppose it would work, but i dont think it would subsitute a sub as it is a mid, but would be better than nothing i suppose!

vibe boxes are ok too

some nice jbl and bazzoka amp enclosures starting from £100

I had the same problem in my pug - so I built a parcel shelf out of MDF on to which I bolted 4x 200w 6x9s and a 4x50w amp, that coupled with a Graphic Equaliser that also has 4x50w and the Head unit made for a v nice little setup... it was cheap too...

4x50w amp from Maplins - £20

Equaliser from Longmill - £25

MDF - Carpet and a bit of hard graft...

This was a couple of years ago - but it was good at the time...

you could do i suppose but i would sound not as good you need to fibre a back onto the plastic panel
