Starting problems!!

Turned the key this morning, battery fine, car wouldnt start at all. The engine sounds terrible, and when i put my foot on the accelerater to give it some revs, the pedal was going right to the floor but having no effect, the engine still wouldnt fire. When i did get it going, shes barely ticking over (about 500 rpm) and sounds as though shes gonna stall at any second

Anybody have any ideas what wrong with it??

Throttle potentionometer?

Will check that. Now the sod is starting perfectly alright but not ticking over like normal, does this add anymore light onto what could be wrong??!!

Yep when i had a curtesy car... caugh caugh it was a 1.6 16v Spastic waggon.... the same problem happened with that as ben H said throttle potentionmeter.... a problem with this drive by wire sh*t
