Spray to prevent underside rust

I was noticing today that from jacking my car up with the trolley jack some of the stuff on the underside the car (dont know what its called but the whol of the underside of the car has it) has come off.

I presume this stuff is there to prevent rust etc but would like to know is there anything I can buy to spray the exposed bits of metal with so that they are not exposed and likely to rust?

Its called waxoyl and you can get it from Halfords or anywhere like that.
