Split rubber on rear wiper!

I know I'm probably going to get "just buy a new one" after posting this but I'll ask anyway. lol

M.O.T is due soon and my rear wiper blade is split on the ends, it still wipes properly and doesn't leave the rear window all smeary but would a split wiper blade cause an M.O.T failure?

Mine has passed two MOTs with the wiping part of the rubber completely gone.

Exactly the same with a shitty old Escort I had but that even passed with a buckled rear wheel so I think the garage just didn't give a s**t to be honest lol

Lol. I hadn't noticed yours mate, is it really that bad? Yeah they're not dear I'm just being a tight git because I've already spent £££s on it already for various other things.

they dont check the rear wiper in an m.o.t, a lot of people take their rear wiper off to make their car look better

if its their it should be functional, whip it off for the mot and stick it on after or buy a new blade or even rip the sh!tty bit off so its not obvious and I doubt they'll pick up on it

Problem solved now anyway, I had a rear wiper from ages ago, it was one I bought a while ago and it was to big to use to it was in my loft gathering dust, just took the rubber out and cut it down and fitted it to the wiper on my Clio.

You cant even fail a front wiper blade for being split anymore unless it doesnt clear properly.

Although, i don't understand why people have s**t front wipers? The amount of car's i get in that they are CRAP!

Haha! Suppose I'll have to buy one now you've seen this thread considering you'll be doing the M.O.T on it :rasp:

As for crappy front wipers, head out the side window could work? lol
