Speaker Baffles

Just made up some speaker baffles for my new comps using the guide off here, however the guide was for a phase 1 (didnt think it would make any difference) but when i came to fit them i realised on mine these's a crease where the plastic backing is raised where the baffle would be mounted ( just read that back and it didnt really make sence, but if anyone has done it before hopefully they will know what im on about!) so is there really any point in fitting them? I mean its supposed to fit nice a securely between the speaker and the door, but i guess seeing as the plastic is not an even surface there will be gaps between the speaker and baffle making it pointless

Search for speaker baffles in the audio section or for a guide on how to fit 6.5inch comps. There are pictures in them showing how they cut away the door card. I think thats your best option. then screw the baffle directly to the metal of the door.

Ive never done it on a phase 2 or i dont even know what a phase 2 looks like.

Sounds good, and would be ok as a last resort but ive just spunked £80 on 5" comps lol.. I suppose i could use the same method as the guide your on about just with 5" comps instead of 6.5"? Then again it all seems like alot of effort.. Do you know if there is actually much of a difference with the baffles in place? If not i think ill just leave them as they are.

I didnt mean get 6.5 inch ones mate sorry. I meant just look for the pictures so you could see what parts of the door card they have cut out.

Id say they are definately worth it. If i was having amped components again i definately would use them without baffles as the standard mountings are poor.

If you have them made up already then why not put them in? Cut the plastic away from the door card that is not needed. Screw the baffles directly to the metal. Then screw the speakers in. Job done.:)

Without taking the grill off you wont be able to see they are any different.
