seat beat harnesses, HELP

alrigt ladies, of seat harnesses - my bro has corbeau revolution bucket seats (that r going in his ka) n the top holes for the harnesses sit higher than his shoulders so does he still need to fit the harnesses to the top rear beat mount?? n y do u cross them? any help??
