I've got an old sub lying around from my previous car (Vibe Space 8), it's a really nice little thing - adds just enough bass to make a massive improvement, so yeah I'm thinking of installing it.
I wired it myself in my last car (1.2 16v Billabong with D4F), where I was able to use the bonnet release cable grommet to thread the positive cable through, how hard is it to do on a 172? Can the same technique be used or is it more of a PITA to get power?
Only going to bother doing it if it's relatively easy, otherwise the sub will probably end up for sale!
Btw I recommend that sub through and through - it's got an 8" long-through woofer, so not earth-shattering bass, but it's just so punchy and surprisingly loud. Plus it weighs next to nothing and tucks away nicely in the corner of the boot
