rear seat belt removal help

hey everyone,

i wonder if anyone can give me a few pointers.

i've taken the rear bench out and the seat belt buckles.

i now need to take out the rest of the rear interior.

ie. all three seat belts (including the one in the headlining) and side panels, boot panel.

also, i've seen people come across pre-tensioners in the rear seat belt set up. is it just the same resistors i used for the front seats - 3.3 ohm, to put in the ones for the back? also is there any wiring that needs to be sorted or taped up regarding the rear speakers?

any help is appreciated thanks.

just how i take off the panels with the speakers in, take out alll three belts. is there defo a pre tensioner in the rear belts, if so is is the 3.3 ohm resistor to stop the dash lights coming on to use in them - ie the same as the front ones?

just how to take it all out really.

Okay well bearing in mind mine is a phase 1 could be slightly different. But to remove to rear door cards, remove the rear bench first then undo the bolt that holds the front and rear seat belts on, then i seem to remember they just pop off dont think there is anythin else holding them on IIRC and i had no light on the dash when i removed everything

yeah from what ive read on here its only the phase 2's that had the tensioners in the rear.

how did you get the panels off that cover the belts. is is just simply a case of unscrewing the two screws i think there are and you get access to that area?

what about behind the speakers?

yer basically there are a load of small torx screws holding on all the panels if you look in the boot where the parcel shelf is and the plasticside panels it hooks onto you will see small screws just start undoing them and it will all come apart, what about the rear speakers?

ok cool i think i can sort the panels then.

well behind them panels, i presume theres some sort of connection to the speaker, isnt there? what did you do with it?

okay well what i did was just unscrewed the speaker and it was a plug that was in the back of the speaker, so its safe to just leave it there no problems. Just removed the plug and there you go one speaker safely removed.

oh right so that speaker part comes out of the panel itself then?

Yer if you remove the speaker grill it will be held on by four screws the grill just pulls off.

The middle seat belt was the pain in the ass for me because its attached to the roof lol but 1 tip take pictures of everything so you remember how it all goes back together. Other then that just one or two bolts hold them in place easy to remove.

ok cool, cheers for all your help.

any one got any info on the resistors and where exactly to put them at all?

the back panels just pull off but you need to remove the back seats and the rail thingy for the front seat belt (remove the huge torx screw and rotate the rail to vertical and pull the the centre of the car) then for the speakers grab the cup holders and pull they come off then unscrew the speakers to unplug them and just pull the panel off :)
