Rear drum adjusters

  Jap Box
Hi,

Got a load of brake travel on the pedals because one garage the cars been to had managed to take apart the rear drums and forgot to put the adjusters back in. Cant exactly go to the garage because it's been to a few and it would be too much hassle with them.

The local garage I always take it to told me about it last week after getting the rear bearings done and the exaghst mount done again, I did notice some travel but never thought anything of it. However they told me they have adjusted the rears again but the automatic adjuster is missing so the travel will come back over time, which it now has done.

Can I get the adjusters separate or will I need whole new drums? I think it was bodged through the last MOT because it got a fail on rear brakes in the past but was passed the next day by a different garage with no advisories.

Thanks

You can buy the adjuster kits from Renault for around £25-30 but I promise you now they will want to know what rear brake setup you have, Bosch or Lucas (Girling or TRW) and the only way you'll know is to look at them i'm afraid.
