Hey guys, just a few things that have always been puzzling me...

Right i know that their are certain things you can do to your system to acheive the best potential out of out, mainly talking about the subs here guys.

I've read about people tuning sub boxes, i don't really understand how you tune a box? Also, the bass ports ( how much of a difference do they make)

when someone say tuning a sub box is that they tune to box so that it resonates at a certain frequency.

this is done by altering different things like port length,shape,size and box size.

thats why i prefer a sealed box as it gives you a more even sound output with no real peaks where a ported box with give you a big peak at it's tuned frequency.

also playing a sub below the boxes tuned frequency can be damaging to the speaker as it acts as if it was in an infinate baffle
