Put a deposit down on a 172 yesterday. Have looked at quite a few and this one seemed the best.

Got a 2002 '02' 172 in Black, with 41k for £5800. It was trade, so a little more than what I could have paid, but it comes with a 2 year warranty, that can be used anywhere, and they are doing the cambelt! I asked to have proof of this, just to make sure.

It's had 2 owners, but both from the same family. Has full Renault service history, so was able to find out what was done. It had the aux belt changed at the 36k service. The exhaust looks very recent, and has new tyres all round, although they are Yokohama's I believe. The only thing that lets it down is kerbing to the alloys, but everyone I've looked at has had some, but I can get them refurbed, and a few stone chips, but they are easy to sort.

Looking forward to picking it up.

Don't forget the cambelt should be changed at 5 years/72k although its best change it easier as its expnsive to fix. Its not cheap to do either.

Yeah, I said that it would need doing as the car is 5 years old in July, so they are getting done this week. The local dealer he phoned quoted £650 I think.

I will get the wheels refurbed, in the spring, same time as the bonnet. No point doing it with all the salt on the roads.

What are Yoko A539s like, as thats whats on there. Dunno whether to change them.

Also, it has switchable ESP. Other 02's I looked at didn't. Is it a little hit and miss, or what?
