problems with 172

Just bought mine and the engine misfires when stationary. Within a week after
I bought it the managment light was flashing saying its found a fault and straight away lost all of its power and driving like a tank so its now on its way to the garage

Someone told me it might have been caused by the k & n induction kit but just asking to see if any one else has had the same problem? or does anyone any ideas whats caused this?

I'm looking for your help and advise

Won't be the induction kit thats rubbish, will be ECU I think much more likely. Just needs it's diagnostics tested out at a Reno garage

Might be an idea putting your airbox back on before taking it to renault tho as they might treat u different if they know its had a k and n on. They might blame that and like tommboy said that wont be the problem.
