Problems playing games

I've just got F1 2006 and when I'm trying to play the game it just keeps freezing when loading and during races. My laptop only has 256mb ram and the game is aroun 750mb and I have had a few virtaul memory short messages and upped it but it's still to slow to play really.
Without buying more ram is their anything I can do?If I was to burn it to disc and run it from their instead of having it on my laptop would that make any difference?
Also when i'm playing it I don't know if it's just because of the low memory situation but the graphics are pretty poor is their anyway of updating these from downloads on the net?

if you don't wanna buy new memory then buy a whole new computer. 256mb ram and a laptop with a poor graphics card isn't gonna do u any favours.

If I give a link to what kind of laptop this is would anyone be able to tell me how good it will be at trying to run this game?
Thing is i've got a good desktop upstairs that would run it just with the laptop I can be comfy while playing it!

sorry Tidyclio but any laptop that has such low memory, will also have a poor CPU and probably a shared graphics controller. In other words, your laptop simply will not be able to run it very well at all.

All i can suggest is that you use the desktop to play modern games - laptops are piss poor comparatively.

Yeh - show us the link though please

Is their anyway of taking the hard drive/cd rom bit of my desktop and linking it to my laptop to use it as memory but this as the display/mouse/keyboard?

ah yeh sorry mat e- you graphics card simply wont allow you to run it at all - im afraid you can only use your desktop for this one - just looked at the spec and unfortunately you are stuck with it

Damn means i've got to get up and sit in a rock hard computer chair screw that lol!
Is it possibly to up graphics cards and if so how much?Is their anyway of updating these via the internet no?
Just i've read a lot about updating chipset drivers and other drivers which i've never done.
